I got ushered out of there with a crying baby. Booooo hoooooo...now you're making us both cry, Ash. ;)

I love it! The kids actually ask me all the time when we can go back to Universal and have another frozen butterbeer!
Faize wrote: "Not a whole lot of authors write troll books. Why'd you choose trolls?"Thanks for asking, Faize.
Honestly, at the time I started writing Troll Or Derby, I knew I wanted something in the realm of fae. In my opinion trolls were not an area that had been written to death. YES, there are a million fairy series for teens now, but having a troll counterpart to the fairy personality was something that hadn't been done before, and to me the two species are like two sides of the same coin.
Fairies are light and whimsical (and sometimes mean), and trolls are heavy (legends say they turn to stone, right?), large, and ferocious. I thought "What if I made the troll the *nice guy*?" and it all just sort of flowed from there.
I actually decided to make the book about fairies first, but as soon as I added Harlow the troll, the plot took off!

October is filled with events! Watch the events tab on this page for more info!

I shall defer that one to Stephen Wright.

If your question or comment doesn't fit elsewhere, please share it here.

The Wizard Tales were never meant to become a series, but it looks like they shall be. So far The Wizard Takes a Holiday has been downloaded thousands of times for free, and
The Wizard Takes a Fitness Class has received a respectable response. More Wizard Wanted is the common refrain. A new Wizard Tale is planned for 2012/early 2013 release. Eventually, there will be a collection, Red hopes.
What do you love about the mysterious Wizard? What would you like to see the Wizard tackle next? Do you have questions about his mysterious origins. Red does not guarantee she will answer them--this is a high-spoiler potential situation! But you may ask! You never know what she'll let slip.

Red is an unabashed Harry Potter GEEK. Do you love the boy wizard? Has he influenced your life? Are you into Wizard Wrock? What's your Pottermore username? (Red's is WildElm176, Ravenclaw House, of course.)
Challenge Red to a duel on Pottermore, speculate about The Casual Vacancy, share your LARP plans for the upcoming Quidditch Games or Harry Potter con. Share your photos from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Ask nicely, and Red will post hers!

What are your favorite reads? How do they stack up with Red's? Have recommendations for the author? Tell Red what you like and see if she can recommend something new for you to check out.

Who was this writer before she assumed the identity "Red Tash?" Why the name "Red"? Why give up steady-paying work at all? Opinions on indie vs traditional publishing? Share them here and ask away about Red's experiences, if you dare.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Greachin, Christine, Richard, Tom, and that confounded star. Also a place to ask about the writing process of this book, editing, cover, marketing, whatever you wanna know!

All about fairies, trolls, and roller derby. Also a thread for anything else pertaining to the book. Writing, editing, cover design, etc.
