With his thumb, Beau wiped my tear away, then without a word, he leaned forward and kissed me gently. I reached forward to catch the front of his shirt, the fabric rough against my fingertips.

He lifted his head and looked into my eyes. “I hate to see you sad,” he whispered.

“There’s not much to do about it.” I tried to laugh, but it wasn’t convincing.

“I never expected to meet someone like you. And then when I did, I never dreamed you’d consider me worth your time.”

“I shouldn’t consider you,” I said, longing pulsing through me with every heartbeat. “But I guess I can’t help it.”

Hi, Amanda! Great question! My style has actually evolved the more books I've written. On my first two, I did the "free verse" style. To a large extent, that's also how I wrote TTAF, but I started making more notes for it as I went.

For ROUGE, I opened Word and typed up a 1-page summary of the whole story (beginning, conflict, climax, resolution, end). Then I sat down and started writing with that loose outline in my head. It changed some; I added some things, didn't do others. But the basic story stayed the same.

That's also how I "planned" the book I wrote last spring (a YA sci-fi); and it's how I expect to handle the sequel to ROUGE.

So far that seems to work for me!

Another sequel question. I don't have a sequel, but I have started a companion with Ashley Lockett as the MC. My wonder is should it be funny like TTAF or more serious? Hmm...

I was asked about the playlist for TTAF, and I had to come clean... I didn't make one. But I have for other books.

One song that's in my head for it is "Just Like Heaven" by the Cure. But I don't know if that's a good fit.

I wonder if anybody else had a better song? :o) <3
