This may be because some think the usage is offensive. First impressions color our perceptions which we may change if we please though no one likes to suddenly change conventions associated with festivities. Wikipedia has many errors but I hope it is correct in this case. We are used to this abbreviation since childhood and Twitter, Bookbub and other ad media have limits on number of characters.
https://www.dictionary.com/e/xmas-chr... says, 'But, the history of the word Xmas is actually more respectable—and fascinating—than you might suspect. First of all, the abbreviation predates (by centuries) its use in gaudy advertisements. It was first used in the mid-1500s. X represents the Greek letter chi, the initial letter in the word Χριστός (Chrīstos). And what does Χριστός mean? “(Jesus) Christ.” X has been an acceptable representation of the word Christ for hundreds of years. (And why would people need to abbreviate Christ? Well, the word is very widely written.)'.

I've faced anti-commercial wokeness while advertising a technical book in WhatsApp groups. However, after we advertised the title and frankly sought the co-operation of rival technical authors in gaining membership of distant groups, all the authors in those groups started advertising their own books and admins now frequently distribute free standards documents and books raising the quality of professional work.
I have rather little experience with Goodreads. This group is wonderful.
Taking offense at abbreviating Christmas is based on misinfo as per Wikipedia which says, 'There is a common misconception that the word Xmas stems from a secular attempt to remove the religious tradition from Christmas[3] by taking the "Christ" out of "Christmas", but its use dates back to the 16th century.' vide https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xmas
But I'll be able to explain with the evidence if anyone takes offense. Christmas cards and brief phrases often carry the abbreviation.
