86152 Every year the Maryland Humanities Council chooses their selection for the One Maryland One Book. The purpose of OMOB is to bring together diverse people in communities across the state through the shared experience of reading the same book.

This year's selection is All American Boys, a powerful and relatable story of two high-schoolers brought together by injustice, by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely.

CCPL invites you to participate in this amazing program. Choose either this year's selection or a past selection and share your thoughts! You can find past selections here: http://www.mdhumanities.org/programs/...

86152 Share what you are reading with the group. It doesn't have to fit within the month's challenge theme. Tell us what you like (or dislike) and other things about your current read, or an old favorite!

86152 The first day of spring is March 20! Hopefully that means more time outside enjoying nature. Choose a fiction or nonfiction book where nature or the natural world plays a prominent role in the story. Discuss its role and how it affects the characters.

Here are some Goodreads lists to give you some ideas:

86152 Since it's hard to find time to pick up a book, or you may be spending a lot of travelling in the car this holiday season - Lets talk audiobooks this month. CCPL has audiobooks in many different formats: you can download to your smartphone or tablet through our Overdrive or Hoopla services, or check out a CD or Playaway at your local branch!

Consider the performer and how you feel they conveyed the story. How did the performer portray the characters and narrative voice? Was the choice of performer appropriate for the book?

If it's your first time listening to an audiobook, share what you think about the format.
