I also read the Devil in the White City and I did like it. Did you know there's a goodreads quiz on it?

Do you drink loose leaf tea? I find that lovers of knitters & books tend to be tea addicts!
What are you reading now?

The Family is about the Borgia Family, a powerful family during the renaissance.
What are you reading and what made you pick that book?

Our group use to be much more active but not recently. It use to have other mods who would engaged more. I'm sure if you start posting about even your current reads you will get a reply. Welcome to the group btw! Look forward to hearing your viewpoint and more of your project!

This is however, the first travel book that I have read that covers a tragedy. I was a bit taken aback that it was labeled as travel. The popular books are not the travel books in my opinion. Does anyone else read travel books? Do people talk about travel books anymore? I know with travel blogs and other social media, it's much easier to get a glimpse of other areas but is it the same?
Has anyone read No Way Down? Thoughts?

I have started this book as the monthly book read.
The only reason I am reading it is because I know J.K. Rowling is the author but at the same time, I see myself loving this type of book if I had known about it under her pen name.

The book I found to be wonderful, just like any of Murakami's novels, of which I enjoy greatly.
There was an article about how in Tokyo there has been a cafe that has been desginated the Murakami cafe here:

As well, what I found interesting was that on reddit, there was a debate here about how genders portray the other gender unrealistically in their novels. Murakami came up for that because of his portrayal of women, and how the majority of females in his novels are either always mysterious but never say why they are mysterious or the fact that every female has sex with the progtagonist without a second thought. This is especially true of Norwegian Wood where the three women all have sex with him and involved with him on various levels.

Here's the link.
Anyone have any thoughts on this.

If you like, you can start a Fahrenheit 451 thread and are more than welcome to! :D

I know there is a slight stipulation as to review the book if you win on some, but I am wondering what does everyone else think of this feature? Is it a good feature? What about the email alerts?
A lot of people enter the giveaways, but not a lot of people read the books that are being contested sometimes.
I entered giveaways as a chance to read a little known author that I wouldn't see on the stacks along with the big names. That and I always if I can review each book I read.

Also what does everyone think of the novel being set in the early 1970's ? i did not expect that.
