Jeffrey Massey It has been many moons since I read anything by Richard Ford, although I read both The Sportswriter and Independence Day during the early 90's? Memory failing me to some degree on dates, but I remember his work as being well done. Just ordered a copy of The Sportswriter to read no matter how the poll comes out.

I'm not familiar with Ford but this looked really interesting when it was nominated.
