“For example, when a specific temptation comes into our mind or our emotions, we need to utilize the warning function of the Holy Spirit and immediately identify it as a wicked thought or suggestion or unclean movement of our sensual nature with our mind/understanding. We then need to reject the temptation wholeheartedly with our will, turn away from the emotions that lead into sin, and cultivate the positive emotions of love for God and neighbor.”
