“To explain what would happen on a typical day at Auschwitz seems too difficult for me now. Much of the time, my mind was blank due to the continuous onslaught of images that challenged any logical understanding or reason. Life in the concentration camp was an unconnected series of distorted vision. Because of that spiritual blackout, I think I I spent at least 3 days drugged by horror. I was reliving fragments of nightmares while I was either awake or asleep.”
