The School: Like in the books. There's one in Northern Minnesota, about 2 hours north of Minneapolis on the banks of Mille Lacs Lake. There is another floating somewhere above Kansas, approximately above Lyons and Lindsborg.
There's a mutant "camp" (really, it's just a place where they're known to gather) in New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia. ((As we get more members/characters, we may expand to another national ark as well.))
*****Note: All these landmarks are real, and in the USA.*****

this is in the Minnesota school))
Walter walked out of the room, turning off the lights as he left.
"Well, hes gone now, lets get back to work"
he looked into her eyes through the bars of their cages.
"they really learned this time, coated my bars with rubber"
"oh thats a shame..." katarina said "no trouble for you though, right?"
he smirked, "give me about a minute" he sat and thought for a few moments before asking "could you reach through your bars and cut the rubber off? just a little bit so i can touch the metal"
"sure i can" she said, doing just what he asked
"two places please, one high one low"
"mmhmmm"
=========
A couple hours had passed since their short conversation, katarina had recently finished slicing two thin slits in the rubber, "you know, you still have not told me what to call you..." she told him
"i dont have a name" he told her, "you figured yours out when you got out, ill wait until i get out" he gripped the bar at the places where the metal was exposed "this time ill go, but ill be back for you"
katarina smiled, he reflected it, then shot thousands of volts of electricty through the bar, it heted up hundreds of degrees in an instant, melting the rubber. The rubber dripped onto his hands and he withdrew them, gasping at the burns the heated rubber caused
"oh youre hurt.... and the rubber... it melted back onto the metal..." katarina sighed, concerned
"no matter" he said, wiping his hands on the bottom of the cage, "it wasnt my gol to melt the metal" he pused his hand forcefully ginst the bar, and it gave easily, he slipped through the bars and stood in front of her cage. "where did you say the others were?"
"west virginia" she smiled back
"ill be back, i promise" he grinned, and dissappeared in the darkness
he stealthily escaped the school, using his fingers as tasers to elude the guards and other personnel

he stepped into the cold, enveloping darkness of the night and smiled as it began to rain.
he looked up to the sky aand began heading southeast towards virginia
Drea hunkered farther back into the tree she was hiding in, watching the boy as he slipped out of the School. She bit her lip uncertainly, her gaze darting around. Man, I hate the rain. Makes it so much harder to be mobile... She dropped out of the tree, landing in front of, nearly on top of, him.

Drea jumped at the electricity in the air as she looked down at him, then groaned and looked around. She glanced up at the sky a few times, shivering in the wetness of the air. Glancing at the School, still not all that far away, she gingerly lifted the boy by his armpits and started dragging him toward some bushes. "Why me..." She muttered, her glance darting around every few moments.
Drea glanced down at the guy, then resumed her furtive glancing around. "Well, since you knocked yourself out, and you're not back in the building, I'd say I'm a friend. Or a you're a really bad enemy. And... We're about 10 feet from where you knocked yourself up. I can't drag you that far, you know."

Drea shook her head, frowning. "Not really... I was hiding out here, hoping to find someone." She rubbed her arms and looked around again, shivering slightly from the rain that was still falling. She looked at him, frowning. "How do I know you're not working for them, anyway?"

Drea rolled her eyes. "Like they're not looking for me? They sent people out a couple days ago. Didn't even search the surrounding area." She glanced around again, shaking rain from her hair. "I hate the rain... But fine. Where did you have in mind?"

Drea looked at him miserably, looking rather like a water-logged rat, with her red eyes. "But I'm earth-bound in the rain. I tried it while you were unconscious, and now I'm not sure my wings will come ba--." She cut herself off, staring at him wide-eyed. "You... Can forget I said that..."

Drea glanced around again. "Yeah... Except that there isn't any real shelter for miles. That's why I was waiting around out here. I already scouted, and didn't find anything. So either way, we're going to have to walk for a bit..."

Drea shrugged. "I have no idea. I grew up here, and they didn't exactly teach me how to get away from here undetected, or even at all."

Drea chuckled and nodded. "Yeah..." She sighed quietly, trying to heat up the air around her. "Hey, how fire-proof are you?"

"Noted. No lighting you on fire to expedite your drying out..." Drea sighed and glanced up at the sky as the air around her starts to warm slightly.

Drea giggled. "Sure it does." She glowered up at the sky. "It's just too wet right now for me to do so." She threw a devilish grin in the boy's direction.
Drea shrugged and looked away. "Growing up there... It did things to me." After being quiet for a couple moments, she looked back at him. "But no, I'm not insane quite yet. Come on, let's get moving." She started walking, the air around her shimmering with heat. "Oh hey, what's your name?" She looked back at him.
Drea sighed. "Yeah... Hey, you want me to help dry you off?" After a moment, she added, "Uh... Without lighting you on fire, I mean."

Drea cracked a grin as the air around the boy went from chilly to extremely warm, in a matter of seconds. Meanwhile, the air about her body had increased to the point where small flames were starting to form on her clothing. "Then you're lucky."
Drea nodded, looking off into the distance again as the air holds its temperature around the boy, and continues to heat up around herself. She didn't even notice when her clothes and hair were very much on fire.

Drea groaned. "Again? D*****..." She sighed and shook her head. After a few moments, the flames died. "Am I out now?"

Drea shrugged, still watching his hands. "Just don't shock me, okay? I'm immune to fire, not electricity."

Drea let out a long sigh. "You really want to see them?" She looked at him, studying him quietly while waiting for his answer.
