A Bit About You

2. San Antonio, Texas
3. Tami Hoag or J.D. Robb
4. Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed-rate it a 1-what a disappointing book this was for me. 3/4th way through I gave up on trying to find something to like in it and dumped it onto to my Discard pile.
5.Dean Koontz with C.S. Lewis
1. Michele
2. Sleepy town west of Seattle
3. This varies on mood. Today, we'll say Elizabeth George.
4. Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. Gave it 3 stars, I believe, because it wasn't as good as her most recent effort, Gone Girl, but was far better than Sharp Objects.
5. Agatha Christie...I want to know what really happened when she disappeared for that short period of time. I'm nosy that way (a horrid American trait).

2. Kirkintilloch - the "Canal Capital of Scotland"! Really!
3. Difficult - either Christie or Reginald Hill, maybe.
4. The Chalk Girl - 4 Amazon stars = I Like It (sorry, haven't got to grips with Goodreads star system yet). Love O'Connell's writing and plotting, but really dislike her detective Mallory which stops the books being great, for me.
5. Dickens (he counts as mystery, doesn't he? Bleak House?) - after reading Simon Callow's fabulous Charles Dickens and the Great Theatre of the World, I reckon Dickens would be the ultimate party guest.

2: Beaconsfield, UK.
3: Henning Mankel
4: The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared 10/10
5: John Steinbeck

1: Sally

3: Dorothy L Sayers - although it does depend on mood
4: If it has to be a mystery...I confess I do love 'cosy' mystery stories, particularly related to knitting.. it's 'The Knitting Fairy' by Jaime Marsden - so embarassing! And I gave it 8 out of 10. If not a mystery, Like the Wideness of the Sea by Maggi Dawn - and that gets a 10
5.Dorothy L Sayers
1: Meredith
2: Bloomington, Indiana
3: P.D. James - the queen of crime :)
4: Last Book You Read: Bad Boy by Peter Robinson. It's okay.
5: If you could meet one author (dead or alive) who would it be? P.D. James, of course!

5. Stephen King or any/all of the above.

2. Yorkshire Dales, UK

2. La Porte, TX, US
3. I am not monogamous when it comes to author-love. I tend to love the one I'm with, lol.
4. Book I just finished: When We Were Executioners. I gave it a 3 to 3.5 rating
5. Author I would most like to meet? Well, again, a tough choice:
(a) Stephen King, my first true and longest book love
(b) Charlotte Bronte. Anyone capable of dreaming up Jane Eyre is someone I need to talk to!
(c) Seanan McGuire, my most recent author crush. So prolific, creative and imaginative. Did she sell her soul at the crossroad, or what?

2. Canada
3. Sorry, can't give you just one: Stuart MacBride, Ian Rankin & Jo Nesbo
4. "Oblivion" by Arnaldur Indridason, 4 stars
5. From the present: Stuart MacBride

Agatha Christie

2. Buffalo, NY
3. Dorothy Sayers
4. The last book I read was The Great Gatsby, but since that was a re- re- reread, I'll go back a few books: I just finished reading Snobs, by Julian Fellows. I'd give it a 5. But I have been on a strong run of books that I would rate 8-10: The Last Painting of Sarah De Vos, The Whites, Fourth of July Creek, Fates and Furies ....
5. Oh, I can't even choose!

5: If you could meet one author (dead or alive) who would it be? Richard Ayoade - again not a crime author but british still..

2. Finger Lakes region of upstate NY
3. My favorite author is Terry Pratchett, who probably doesn't qualify as a mystery writer, although I guess the Nightwatch novels could qualify? As for more typical mystery authors - Daphne du Maurier got me started in that direction, followed by Agatha Christie and Wilkie Collins. More recent favorites include early Elizabeth George, Tana French, Mo Hayder
4. Rubbernecker by Belinda Bauer, 8/10
5. Terry Pratchett

Favourite mystery author - I don't think I could name one, as they are all so different, and it varies depending on what I'm in the mood for at any time.
If I could meet just one, I think it would have to be Dame Agatha. I'd like to ask her not just about her books, but her travels and the archaeological digs she went on.
Last book read - I usually have several on the go, fiction and non-fiction.
