I'll be BACK!

Hi everyone! So happy to see you here for our chat. I'd happy to answer any of your questions along the way, and am happy to say you will see plenty of Nick and Alexa in the next two books. As for baseball, Nicole you are so correct - I am the Mets fan and my own wonderful husband is the Yankees fan. We agreed early after many fights that we just don't discuss baseball and it's been working quite well lol! Looking forward to hanging out and chatting about the series!

I'm absolutely ecstatic that you're sticking to the Nick and Alexa storyline, so eager to read more about theme! Just a few weeks away, I can't wait!

Hi Maya! That is the highest form of a complement an author can hear, and I'm so happy you felt that way about the book! And I know what you mean about college - I remember getting my degree and all I read were textbooks!
Yes, Malia, though Maggie and Michael hold center stage, you will def see Nick and Alexa. Same holds true for The Marriage Mistake, where I keep them and Maggie and Michael involved for my readers. So glad you are here!
HI Sarah! I adore marriage of convenience stories and always looked for them in contemporary romance. I loved the idea of doing a modern type with two opposite characters who knew each other as kids. And I adore sketching out tortured heroes! After Bargain was written, Maggie jumped off the page and demanded her own story, and I thought how much fun it would be to make a series with a type of marriage of convenience in it as the main thread! I thought I"d make each book a little different but still keep interweaving the same characters throughout the new books so readers never leave them behind! I adored writing this series and have one character left without her happy ever after ending. I think I may need to write it!

Love that question Jaime! I find their faults and weaknesses and fears and insecurities. Just like us. Flat, cardboard characters drive me crazy. I don't just want a super hot, rich sexy hero. I want him damaged and a mess and fighting for happiness. So I get to know their past hurts and relationships from friends, families and exlovers. Then I begin to build the layers. I also love a sense of humor or sarcastic wit - that goes a long way toward making them real. I start with the guts and build outward. Specifically in this book I wanted to mirror opposites so Alexa can slowly bring Nick around to her world and make him see he is worth love. Messing with poor Nick's head was so much fun! In the Marriage Trap, Maggie is the character who is a mess. She has a damaged past and hides it all under a snarky manner. Michael begins to see past the surface and that journey was very satisfying to write also. Thanks for the great question!
