I'm so excited about this site, I simply have to post it. During the course of penning Omorphi, I learned that there were no sites that provided information as to "HOW A FRIEND CAN HELP AN ABUSED FRIEND." I sent a request to the Trevor Project to create such a resource. I'm pleased to say that they partnered with Inspire USA to create REACHOUT.COM and there are now resources for FRIENDS TO HELP FRIENDS!
FIND OUT HOW TO HELP A FRIEND WITH ALL KINDS OF THINGS RIGHT HERE!

Their website has a bunch of links listed under the "links" button including some local and other more far-flung or web-based, with some good support for transgender people.

maybe start here??

I'm actually raising money for it by pulling a firetruck down my street! (Outright is for LGBTQ+ youth, and it helps so many young people who might otherwise have nowhere safe to be themselves. This organization is AMAZING!)

You might check with Lesbians and Gays of Evanston - http://www.meetup.com/LGBT-of-Evanston/ If they aren't close enough, they might know who is. be aware I found them with a web search, so I have no first hand experience with them.

If Evanston is near O'Hare, then there's a PFLAG group nearby. It says the closest is the Deerfield chapter.

"The Real Story Safe Sex Project takes a new, hopefully more entertaining approach: remind people about HIV and safe sex using entertainment and popular culture, especially projects involving your favorite fictional gay and bi characters.
I’m launching the project with my story Two Thousand Pounds Per Square Inch, using a character from my own Russel Middlebrook Series. You can download it for free by clicking on the book jacket or using the direct links below (warning: it’s sexually explicit!)..."

Under Australian law, parents can usually
consent to medical treatment for their
children. However, there are some
forms of medical treatment, known as
“special medical procedures”, to which
parents cannot consent. Special medical
procedures require parents to apply to
the Family Court for approval before the
child’s treatment can proceed.
The law says that Stage 2
hormone treatment (the use of oestrogen or
testosterone) for transgender children
is a special medical procedure.
