I read my first Nicholas Sparks book earlier this year (Message in a Bottle). It was really good. I've seen some of his movies, too. I think I would like to read more, but I probably won't read all of them next year (but we will see!).

I've been trying to think of some good challenges for next year and this one is one I shall add to the list of potentials!

I have actually read most of his books but i don't own a single copy of any of them, sadly. This is the perfect challenge for me because the hubby was already gonna buy them all for me as a Christmas present this year. Thanks for the invite and i am really looking forward to this challenge!!!

Both or one or the other, whatever you prefer. There's a schedule in the description of what books are going to be read when. You can read the books and discuss or just discuss if you have already read the book... :-)

My library had a book sale this weekend and I got Message in a Bottle, Dear John and The Lucky One. They were each 25 cents. SCORE!!

Hey everyone,

Debs recommended this group, so I joined. I own three Nicholas Sparks books at the moment (The Notebook, The Lucky One and The Best Of Me), I've read the first two and love them. I might buy more of his books before 2013 (I do plan to buy them all eventually as I think he's a great author!). I've also got the DVD of The Notebook film, but I haven't got the Lucky One yet (also on my to-buy list). I loved the film of The Notebook. Anyway, this isn't really a question (I hope it's ok if I don't buy all Nicholas Sparks' novels before the challenge is finished), I just wanted to introduce myself.

Thanks Debra, for sending me an invite to this group! You had sent me the invite a while back, but I am just starting to think about what 2013 book challenges I want to try. I have not read any Nicholas Sparks books, but have wanted to so this is a great group and challenge for me! I don't currently own any of his books, but I am hoping to borrow ebooks from the library. I checked and they have most of the books, but not all of them. Some books have long waiting lists, so I might purchase some secondhand paperbacks. Thanks for posting the book schedule ahead of time. I look forward to reading and discussing the Nicholas Sparks books with you and everyone else in this group!

Debra, may I make a suggestion? If I were you I would read The Wedding right after The Notebook, simply since they accompany each other. Just a suggestion.

This is such a great idea. I just went in on facebook and created events for each month to make it easier for me to keep on track. I set them up as public events so feel free to join the event if you would like

I downloaded the recipes that were posted on Nicholas sparks page for the dinner party and book - does anyone know any recipes that are related to the notebook? It'd be neat to do a recipe for each book

I love the idea of this challenge. I've been a fan of Nicholas Sparks for over a decade now and it'll be nice to connect with people who love his books as well!
