This is where you can discuss everything about A Walk to Remember

Jennifer (kittenwitch) I read the book first and loved it. My Dad took me to see the movie when it first came out and I was 8 months pregnant with my first child and I cried and cried. My Dad kept asking me if I was alright because he thought I was going to go into labor. I was crying so much he thought I was having contractions. He was such a good sport and ended up really liking the movie.

lol! The movie made me cry a lot as well! :-)

schu I read this after I watched the movie and it was very different. But I kept reading it until I finished and I cried on both the movie and the book. Who wouldn't when you just watched someone you love die. I was heartbreaking and reminds me of my cousin. :))

Amber (beachy_keen) | 1 comments This book is probably my all time favorite! Nicholas Sparks is such a great guy! He lives less than an hour away and is always giving money to the local schools.A lot of his movies film close by too!

Rabia (rahxrahster) This book was excellent and I don't think if I had read the book first that I'd picture Mandy Moore as Jamie. Loved the movie and the book

Kathy (ebookkat) (ebookkat) | 13 comments I have not seen the movie, but I finished reading the book early this morning. The book was a quick read for me. I really liked the book! So far I have read three books for the 2013 Nicholas Sparks Challenge and all three books made me teary eyed. Are all of Nicholas Sparks books tear jerkers? Not complaining, just wondering : )

Hi Kathy! This one is definately one of Nicholas' quicker reads... I started it yesterday and probably will not take me long to finish it... Its been a while since I have read the other books but from memory yes they all have some element of tear jerkiness to them... Thanks so much for taking part! Best wishes Debs :-)

Absolutely loved this book!!!

My Review 10 out of 10

I have just fallen in love with this story all over again. It has been many years since I last picked up this book and a little sooner that I last watched the movie, probably when it first came out, and I have been very much looking forward to delving into this story again. For me, there is always something almost magical about sitting down and delving into a Nicholas Sparks story. It is guaranteed that at the end of every single story I have read, I will cry. It could be tears of happiness, tears of sadness or a bit of both but still guaranteed.

What I loved about this book...

Where can I start lol! Absolutely everything. If I had to pick one particular thing about this story that I really did love the most I would have to say it was Landon and Hegbert, Jamie's father. I liked how we see Landon's personality change as the story goes on and see the effect that Jamie has on him. With Hegbert, there are a lot of secrets that he holds particularly in relation to his family and you can feel it as you read about him, his character progression throughout the story is gradual but enjoyable to follow.

What I was not fond of with this book...

Absolutely nothing!

Best wishes

Debs

Tracy (tracyheck) | 2 comments After reading the book, I broke my general rule and watched the movie. I must say that the book is so much better. I must stick to my rule!

Im going to be watching the movie this weekend but have seen it many times before. The book is definately so much better but I do like the fact that there are subtle differences in the story... :-)

Darlene I enjoyed watching Landon mature and also change his feeling towards Jamie through out the story. The book was much better than the movie.

Definately agree with you there Darlene... :-)

Jay Daily Reads (loquaciousreaders) I've read and watched both the book and the movie... and both made me cry. I love this story, despite that fact. :/

Kouk Thanks Kathy & Debra!

I'm feeling good again!
Have been sick for about 2 weeks.

I really loved A Walk to Remember!

It was a romantic and sad read but it did make me all warm & fuzzy inside and made me shed some tears.

(Those are good things because it means that the writer has touched me with his story and his characters!)

I enjoyed the movie as well, with Shane West as Landon & Mandy Moore as Jamie.
Mandy's songs fit the movie nicely.

Olivia (the_best_darn_thing) I loved A Walk to Remember as well! I was surprise by how different the book is from the movie though.

Kylie | 1 comments This was a fantastic book! I literally had a mental break down about it and sobbed and sobbed for what it seemed like hours. However, I loved it.
