Water can be found in nature in all of the three common states, or phases, of matter. For this task you will read 2 books. Choose 2 different phases below and read a book for each.
Required: Please include the options you chose when you post.
1. Gas: Water in its gaseous form can be found as mist, fog, and clouds.
A. Read a book where the word “MIST” is found intact somewhere in the book’s title, subtitle, or series title OR
B. Because fog is commonly referred to as Pea Soup, read a book with a predominately green cover. Keep in mind that at least 50% of the cover should be green OR
C. Read a book with clouds or fog visible on the cover. The following list may give you some ideas: Clouds
Required: If using one of the cover options, include the cover in your post.
2. Liquid: I think it’s quite obvious where water can be found it its liquid form!
A. Read a book with water visible on the cover: an ocean or lake, a glass of water or a water bottle, dew on a blade of grass, a tear on someone’s cheek, etc.
Required: Include the cover in your post. OR
B. Water covers 70.9% of the Earth’s surface. Read a book with two of the following numbers in the pages numbers: 7, 0, and 9.
Required: State the number of pages in your post. Readers of alternative formats (ebooks, audio books, and large print editions) must link to the mass market paperback or other edition used to establish number of pages. OR
C. Water’s chemical symbol is H2O. Read a book with at least 2 H’s and 1 O (more is OK) found somewhere in the book’s title, subtitle, and/or author’s name.
3. Solid: Water in it’s solid form can be found in ice, glaciers, and snow.
A. Read a book where the word “ICE” is found intact somewhere in the book’s title, subtitle, or series title OR
B. Read a book by an author whose initials can be found in the words “iceberg” and/or “glacier” OR
C. Read a book with snow on the cover. Required: Include the cover in your post.
