I love the show as much as the book. Even though they changed a lot from the books, I still think that ABC Family have done a terrific job!

Luke (lukep276) To tell you the truth, I started out with watching the Pretty Little Liars TV series. After watching the first season I decided to give the books to try. But since there was a long waiting list at the library, I decided to get The Lying Game. I enjoyed that. The Pretty Little Liars books and TV are similar. But The Lying Game books and TV aren't. Maybe because they need a change. And the cool thing is, Charisma Carpenter is in The Lying Game TV as Becca. I can't wait to see the TV of The Lying Game - I haven't actually seen it yet.

I started watching the television series too before reading the books. I have yet to read the Pretty Little Liars series but have read all of the Lying Game series and watched the series first season. It is really good, the only thing is that Sutton isn't dead in the show. It is still good, you should watch it! I enjoyed it :)

Have you read the latest the Lying Game book? It is soo good! I can't believe we have to wait til 2013 for the next one :/

Luke (lukep276) I just got it from the library! Yeah, I know. But Cross My Heart, Hope To Die at least it's Feb 2013! Then, the final book (I presume), Flip, Sip, Die is out in July 2013

Yeah, I will read Pretty Little Liars in the meantime while I wait. Let me know what you think of it! I just want to find out who killed Sutton, the suspense is killing me!

message 8: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) Too right! In Pretty Little Liars, by the way, there's three times the suspense - aka three A's, if you don't mind me saying!

Okay, I can't wait to read them! XD

message 10: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) I totally enjoyed Hide and Seek, and I am guttered to have to wait until Feb for the next! At least it's not as far as we think it is. The next one follows in July. I actually can't wait to watch the show, especially since Charisma Carpenter is playing Becca in it.

I knew you would! I know, I wish it would be brought out sooner. The suspense in Hide and Seek was x2 the suspense in the others. Can't wait for the next one! Yes! She plays Becca well, so glad they chose Charisma to play Becca :) Can't wait for the show to return next year!

Luke (lukep276) I bet it's a completely different role than she had been Cordelia from Buffy/Angel. Usually, when you see someone in that particular role, you could never think of anyone else that would be perfect for that role. Unless it's Tomb Raider, of course.

Yes I agree, she is completely different. I have to start watching Buffy and Angel again!

message 14: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) I've watched Buffy like a million times. But Angel is what I need to watch a million times. I like the change in Cordelia through from Buffy to Angel. It shows that Charisma can act, going from a vain queen-bee to a courageous woman. It's great owning all 7 seasons of Buffy and all 5 seasons of Angel. Did you know Charisma originally went for the role of Buffy and Sarah Michelle Gellar originally went for the role of Cordelia? And Bianca Lawson (Kendra in Buffy and Maya in PLL) went for Cordelia as well?

message 15: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) Haha! This is turning into a Buffy/Angel chat!

No I had no idea! I am glad with the way it turned out, Sarah plays the best Buffy if you compare the movie that was out in the 90's. She is such a good actress! All of them are!

Haha it is so funny how this turned into a buffy chat :P Did you prefer the earlier seasons or later seasons? I have to ask this.... Are you a Angel or Spike fan?

message 17: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) I like the 1st season because of Buffy's radical change from how she was before she moved to Sunnydale. I like the 2nd season because of the intense romance between Buffy and Angel growing dangerous. Then, the 3rd season is where everything starts to change completely. The later seasons have so much more drama, and, sadly, death is something that occurs many times. :( I love all of Buffy :)

I used to be "no Buffy, it's you and Angel!" But now I'm "Buffy, you and Spike are perfect" and "Angel and Cordelia!" I'm probably more on Spike, because he became good, even though at the time he started he had no soul, but he earned it for Buffy. Definitely not a Riley fan, if it came to him.

That's a lot, lol. What about you?!

I love all the seasons of Buffy but I think I probably prefer the earlier seasons. I have to admit I am a big Angel and Buffy fan more so than Spike and Buffy. But then when you watch Angel you start to like Angel and Cordy. Even with Cordelia I think I still prefer Angel and Buffy. :) I have watched the series like a million times, not even exaggerating .. much.. :P I have started to re-watch it and am up to when the end of Season 2 when Buffy kills Angel :/

message 19: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) I remember the first round of watching Buffy. I wanted to rewatch the whole series. And like you, I've watched it like a million times. My discs are probably got heaps of scratched due to it. :( Especially around the middle part of season 3, which have crumbled a bit, but still work, thankfully. Now I remember almost every episode. Not from title, of course, because there are 144 episodes. (You should, if you're interested, search on Youtube or something the Buffy unaired pilot.)

message 20: by Erika (new)

Erika (erikamiller) | 31 comments Mod
Yes I have seen it!!! I prefer the pilot they chose with Alyson. Who is Willow without Alyson? To me, no one! :)

message 21: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) Too right! I believe that Alyson is the only Willow as well. I also believe that Willow and Tara are right together, and it's sad about that incident with Warren shooting Buffy and accidentally shooting Tara too. (Did you know they went out together in real-life?) Have you considered reading Buffy tie-ins?

message 22: by Erika (new)

Erika (erikamiller) | 31 comments Mod
Yes I heard something about that, I have read a few of the Buffy books and would like to read more of them! What do you think of them?

message 23: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) I have only read a few. They are good. But I want to read more, along with reading other tie-ins, like Charmed, Alias, Angel, etc. The Buffy novel I most want to read is Queen of the Slayers, a novel by Nancy Holder, based right after the television series. There is also the comics to read. (I'm up to the season 9 comics!)

Are the comics any good? Yes, I want to read Queen of the Slayers too! =)

message 25: by Luke (new)

Luke (lukep276) They're good. Not as good as the series. But continues the series, and if Joss Whedon hadn't been a writer I'd never have read them. But he is, and so reading the comics, season 8 and 9, as they are called, is a good idea. And I like them. It's based a year after the final battle. (I guess Buffy's adventures as a Slayer isn't over.) Angel is being continued as well in comics. But unlike Buffy they aren't under a season. The Angel comics are "Angel: After the Fall," with miniseries with it. At the moment there is a Angel and Faith comic series that will be based around Buffy season 9 comics.
