Alisha | 10 comments I don't know about y'all, but I am a total nut for anything related to the Little Mermaid. I've loved it since I was old enough to read and I can't begin to tell you how long I've waited to see an on-screen adaptation of H.C. Andersen's book. (If there's already one out there, please do let me know because I am unaware of its existence!)

That said, I REALLY want to see The Little Mermaid hit theaters next. I've heard that Carolyn Turgeon's novel ("Mermaid" -- a retelling of the original) may be coming to theaters, so that could definitely suffice. *Fingers Crossed*

What do you think? Is there a certain beloved fairy tale that you would like to see hit the theaters? Perhaps one that does not receive the amount of attention it deserves?

Danielle | 48 comments East of the Sun and West of the Moon hands down must be made into a movie. There is a really bade version from the 90s called the Polar Bear King, but that is painful to watch... I honestly don't care if Disney makes an animation or if it is live action. On another note, if they made a movie out of this book retelling, East, I would probably die of happiness!

I agree they should make a little mermaid movie adaptation. The way they've taken off with fairytale movie, no doubt someone's already working on a script!

Liz (lizgotauco) I'd like to see a new version of The Snow Queen (live action), and one of The Tinderbox!

OH no! I got so excited, but reading further in that article, it mentions how some dude named Kristoff "leads her thru the mountain to the Snow Queen".... which betrays one of my favorite parts of that fairy tale - that Gerta finds Kay herself! the lady saves the day! Oh, Hollywood. *sigh*

To answer your other question, I did enjoy some of the Bridget Fonda one, but it's my favorite fairy tale so I hold it to impossibly high standards ;-)

Marjory | 8 comments I've always loved the Two Caskets. Also, the fairy of the dawn. I'd really love to see a decent movie on the 12 Princesses- Maybe modeled after Jessica Day George's version. Also- the one with the 12 princes who turn into birds- and their sister, who makes the rosepetal vests.
