For October, our group read will be something a bit on the scary side. If you can think of a scary book with a good dangerous hero, feel free to nominate it. Or just a good scary read you think the participants will enjoy. Is there a book you have been curious about and want to try out for a read? Why not nominate it? The poll will go up on October 12th.

I'm going to nominate Midnight Mass by F. Paul Wilson. Definitely good and scary!

NO suggestions?

Don't be shy. If we don't get any other votes, we won't be doing a group read this month. Participating has been quite low in the group reads, so we may end up discontinuing them.

If you are interested in seeing group reads continue, we appreciate your feedback and participation.

Jill Hmmmm, I am trying to think of a scary one. All I can suggest at the moment are the Mcloud brother books by Shannon Mckenna books. The villians in her books are crazy scary and I find myself biting my nails. However are they regarded more suspense? The hero's are awesome though:-
I do love group reads so if I find that I think of anything else I will be back.
Oh how about Nora Roberts Pagan Stone series The Pagan Stone (Sign of Seven, #3) by Nora Roberts I think that's what it's called. It freaked me out but it was still a good romance with nice heros.

Thanks, Jill. I'll add the first Pagan Stone book to the poll. Do you know what it is called?

message 6: by Jill (new)

Jill First one is Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven, #1) by Nora Roberts then The Hollow (Sign of Seven, #2) by Nora Roberts , then comes the pagan stone.

Okay, I'll add Blood Brothers, and if it wins and folks want to continue, we can open a buddy reads thread for the others in the series.

Jill Excellent. If i think of anymore I will let you know. I am racking my brain.

How about Blood Oath?

Blurb: Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound by a special blood oath, he is a vampire. Cade battles nightmares before they can break into the daylight world of the American dream, enemies far stranger-and far more dangerous-than civilians have ever imagined.

I am also going to suggest The Woman in White.

Blurb: The Woman in White is a Victorian melodrama concerning a mysterious woman in white who bears an uncanny resemblance to the fiancee of Lord Glyde, a sophisticated fortune hunter. First published as a serial between 1859 and 1860, this chronicle of evil, suspense, and villainy is believed to be the first English novel to deal with crime detection.

Jill Blood in the Marsh by Ciana Stone , it was a little creepy.

Or something by Stephen King?"

Thanks for reviewing this, Jill. Sounds interesting!

Jill Your welcome!!

message 19: by Nomad (new)

Nomad The original Dracula was fantastic and I would reread it in a heartbeat. If you guys want to revist the what vampires were originally... evil monsters who wanted to drink people dry, not sex 'em up, it's a classic.

I found it on Audio at the library yesterday, so that worked out perfectly!

message 25: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) I'm quite looking forward to this one ! Problem with reading the No. 1 of something is that the TBR list never goes down, because you tag No. 2 along, and when you're done with that one, then you know what you do... Tag No. 3 4 and 5 along too !

Exactly, Lorraine. I was thinking if others want to keep reading the series, we can start a buddy reads thread for it.

I know my library has the first two on audiobook. Might have all three. They have a lot of Nora Roberts books!
