We all love books - so let's create one--sort of--together.

One person starts a story, then the person after adds a few sentences/paragraphs. I think this could be fun :> if you want me to open more Story games for you to start, feel free to ask!

I'll Start this time (warning: went for a creepy vibe here!)
Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Megan--
Creak.
"Happy Birthday to me…" I whispered, my voice broken, rocking myself at the corner of the room, hands clasped tight around my knees, head peeking hesitantly from between the comforts of my arms. My blood stained arms
"Happy birthday to me…" my voice croaked, my eyes hazily and blurrily taking in the scene in front of me; the broken tables, the broken dishes, the ruined cake, the ruined TV.
The ruined bodies.
The broken people.
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. That's when I heard it.

Kelly (thejokercard) "No, no, no..." I whispered, clutching my knees tighter to my chest. "No, not again..." I muttered noiselessly.
They said this wouldn't happen again, they promised.
I close my eyes tight.

The sound of the beast snarling came from somewhere outside the house. He should've gone by now. Should've gone once he finished what he came to do.
I stopped breathing, biting my lips so I won't scream. There was nothing I wanted to do more than scream, but that will attract the monster.
Attract it more, anyway.
I looked at the trail of bodies.
It shouldn't have happened.
And yet it did.
I heard the sniffing. He was looking for me? He was looking for me! Oh god, that had never happened before. The monster never returned before. I closed my eyes, and prayed.

message 5: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (thejokercard) All those times... This has never happened before, why now? what's changed?
An eardrum shattering roar came from just outside the house. So loud all the windows in the house broke, showering me in glass.
I must not move, i must not move, i must NOT move...

Then the creature was inside, staring right at me, and I did move. I pushed myself off the floor and ran, stepping barefoot on glass scattered floor. I didn't even feel the pain.
All I knew was that I had to escape, had to. He never before tried to hurt me, but I knew what he was capable of. Could see the proof of it right in front of my in the broken bodies of my foster family.
I ran to the door, thinking I might make it. He wasn't following, not yet--
Thump
Something hit my head, and I fell into darkness...

Kelly (thejokercard) Beep...Beep...Beep...
Ow. My head hurts. I crack open one eye and close it again quickly. Too bright. Where am I? what happened? It was my birthday... there was cake and... oh... Now I remember, and I wish I didn't.
I try to open my eyes again, but this time more slowly.
I'm in a bright white room. I look to my left and see a heart moniter.
Beep...Beep...Beep.
The door opens.

(Kelly, when did we change to present tense? xD)
The man in the door was more a boy than a man. My age, perhaps, and what my foster sister Maggie--my now dead foster sister, I had to remind myself--would call hot. I never cared for boys, any other way, but I knew that much. I tried to sit, and the world swam in front of me.
"Don't try to get up, you got hit pretty badly."
"How... how did I survive?" I asked in a small voice. "The monster wouldn't have let me live". The second the words came out of my mouth - I regretted them. However it was I escaped, I did, and now this boy would think me crazy.

message 9: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (thejokercard) (Whoops! I was never any good at staying in one tense. Sorry!)
He raised an eyebrow "Monster?" As he said it, something flashed so quick across his face that i couldn't catch it.
I gulped. "Err, nothing. I meant... I mean... Bad dream! Yes I had a bad dream" I stared at him, hoping he would leave it alone.

"What happened to me?" I hurried to ask, before he could ask me something else. Before I'd say something that will get me committed. I had no problem with hospitals of any sort--was I in one, now?--but it seemed kind of a shame to doom so many people to death.
And death will come, no matter how many times they promised me otherwise.
"You got hit by a car on your way home. Well, technically--you got hit by my car on your way home," he said, giving me a croaked yet charming grin.
"I'll let your parents know you're awake." he said
"My parents?" I asked.

message 11: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (thejokercard) He frowned at me "Yes, your parents. Don't you want them here or something?" He asked with a concerned look on his face. My parents? No... "Are you sure my parents are here?" I asked trying to keep the hope out of my voice. "Are you sure they're not my foster parents?" My real parents, no that was impossible. But then again, so was parents of any kind. My last foster parents are... No, I can't think about that now.
"Err... yes, your last name and everything. You even look like your mum. Are you sure you're ok?" He said squinting as if to get a better look at me.
But i'm too busy thinking of my parents. Of a young beautiful woman who was my mum. And the time I watched her die.

No, I've got to get a hold of myself. "What's their name?" I asked tightly.
"Their names? I think it was... Jill? Aaron? Something like that." he frowned deeply, probably wondering just how hard I've hit my head, but I didn't care about that.
All I cared about is figuring out who the hell are those Jill and Aaron--because I sure as hell didn't know anyone by that name.
"Aimee! You're awake!" a woman called out suddenly, running to hug me. Aimee? Who? I looked up at her. She did look somewhat like me.

Kelly (thejokercard) "Oh Amiee! You gave me and your father quite a scare!" She said, turning slightly to the boy still in the doorway, frowning at him.
"We're just glad you're ok" A deep voice said beyond the doorway. A minute later a tall man walked through. He must be in his early forties. Jill continued. "Oh of course! Your friends will be so relieved as well"
Friends? Someone like me didn't make friends. It was too dangerous, for everyone.
Jill smiled down at me. "Should I send them in?"

Send them in? Who?
I frowned, and she looked down at me with concern flashing in her deep green eyes. Eyes exactly the color of mine.
"Aimee?" She ought to stop calling me that. My name is not Aimee. My name is Megan. And before that, it was Shay. Not that anyone knows that. As far as the authorities know - I remember nothing from before I was found in the puddle of my parent's blood when I was eight. The shock, the doctors explained.
"Aimee?" Jill asked again. I snapped from my daydreams--day nightmares, really.

message 15: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (thejokercard) (I'm going to have to go soon, so this will be my last for the day. I'll be back on tommorrow around the same time :) )
She's staring down at me, frowning. Damn. WHat do i do now? I clear my throat "Yeah, that would be...great" I think.
"Wonderful!" She beams down at me. "Come on Aaron, lets leave Amiee with her friends" She smiles down at me then leaves the room. Aaron smiles at me from across the room and then leaves with Jill
The boy is still there. Then I realise something. "Hey, what's your name?" I ask him.

(Moved into present tense again? lol. But aside for that your writing is very good :> I'm enjoying this! See you tomorrow Kelly <3)

Am I stupid? "What's your name?" I should've asked him why he's there or what he meant by me getting hit by his car--wait, I got hit by his car? I somehow missed that with the whole "parents" thing.
"Matt, Matt Terrance." he said, "And you're Aimee Manson," he added, his eyes glinting like he's just said something clever. Not that I understood the cleverness.
I opened my mouth to ask him what was going on, when screams and squeals sounded out of nowhere and a herd of girls jumped at me, hugging, kissing, and generally saying "you're awake!!"

message 17: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (thejokercard) Of course I said something brilliant and witty back to them. "Errr...Yep". Not that it mattered.
"Ohmygosh, areyouokweweresoworriedhowdoyoufeel?" This was a noise combined from all of them. I was definitely out of my depth.
"Shhh! God Alice do you want to overwelm her?" A blonde said to my right. "Don't worry" She continued, "We know you need to take it easy and you won't be at the game tomorrow night, we'll cheer extra hard just for you!!"
She had a glint in her eye which made me think this wasn't completely about friendship...Wait...CHEER?!

I had a sickening sinking thought that we were not talking about cheer a friend, but rather cheering for... sport... things... yeah. Not cool. Cheerleader? Me? Never. That's attracting attention, and attracting attention is... Bad.
"Okay?" I asked shakily, my voice cracking. I just couldn't figure out what was happening.
"Great!" the blonde one said. "Then I'll replace you as Captain, 'kay?" Captain? Me? This didn't make any sense. I pulled my feet from under the covers and tried to stand, wanting to run, escape. But when they hit the ground pain pierced through my head, and I buckled to the floor.
When I opened my eyes again, I was in the middle of a forest; and still covered with my foster family's blood.

message 19: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (thejokercard) A loud roar came from behind me.
And something that sounded like a huge animal charging.
Not good
I ran. I jumped over roots and ducked under low branches but the beast just seemed to get closer and closer and closer...
ROAR!
Right behind me.
