Very generally speaking it's alternative history in which steam-power, not gasoline, becomes the primary type of engine for society. Stories typically take place in England or Europe in the 19th century. There's a strong art aesthetic to the Steampunk concept. Run a search for "steampunk fashion" and you'll probably get the idea fairly quickly.

I'd like to sign up :) but I have a question: I have never downloaded a mobi file to read on my kindle app (which I have on my iPod touch) is it possible to do so or should I stick with PDF files? Thanks

If you look at the setting in the Kindle App is will tell you. I can send it to that email and it should show up just fine for you..I believe it might end up under the "Docs" file instead of books though. We can try and if you have issues we can do the PDF

Whatever you want :)
