Lauren Smith This is the official thread for the Me, Myself and I reading challenge. The challenge goes as follows:

Read 25 books that have something to do with yourself!
- published in the year you were born
- author or main charachter shares your name
- main character has the same pet as you
- is set in your hometown
- main character has the same profession as you
etc., etc. etc. the possibilities are endless.

To do the mini challenge, read 10 books.

This challenge will begin on 1 November 2012 and end on 31 October 2013.

Lauren Smith 1. Inkarna by Nerine Dorman Author is a South African who lives in Cape Town, and the book is set in Cape Town, my home town

2. The Club Dumas by Arturo Perez-Reverte The characters travel to Paris, which I visited in 2012.

3. The White Shadow by Andrea Eames Main character has a younger sister

4. The Constantine Affliction by T. Aaron Payton One of the main characters is Frankenstein's Monster from the novel Frankenstein. The titular Affliction is said to have started with a person named Orlando, which is a direct reference to Virginia Woolf's novel Orlando, about a character who changes sex. I have read both Frankenstein and Orlando

5. Me and the Devil by Nick Tosches Main character is a writer

6. Kraken by China Mieville Main character wears glasses

7. The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clark The author has a bachelor's degree in English lit.

8. The Office of Mercy by Ariel Djanikian The author majored in English lit

9. Light by M. John Harrison The story features several cats and cat-related things. I have a cat.

15. Stolen Lives by Jassy Mackenzie The novel is set in South Africa, and the author is South African

16. The Cutting Room by Mary Watson The novel is set in Cape Town. The author is also from Cape Town, and studied at UCT.

17. The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes The author is from Cape Town and studied at UCT. And her name is Lauren :)

1) The Seductive Imposter by Janet Chapman. Main character likes jewelry and elaborate barettes as do I.
2) Courting Carolina by Janet Chapman. Main female character has had her long hair cut against her will and a lot has to come off. A hairdresser once took of 30 cm of my hair against my wishes.
3) The Club Dumas by Arturo Perez-Reverte. Book is about a manuscript of The Three Musketeers and also has some similar characters and plots as that book. I have read the Three Musketeers.
4) The Dangerous Protector by Janet Chapman. Main character is the youngest of two sisters as am I.
5) Polar Shift by Clive Cussler. Several charachters are archaeologists as am I
6) Midnight by Erin Hunter. It is about stray cats. Cats are my favorite animal and my first real cat, Megan, was a stray I rescued from a shelter.
7) The Island by Victoria Hislop. The woman that is seeking out her roots is an archaeologist as am I.
8) The Immortal Rules by Julia Kagawa. Allie was taught to read by her mother as did I.
9) Kraken by China Mieville. There is a Star Trek fan in there and several references to Star Trek. I am a trekkie myself.
10) Courtiers by Lucy Worsley. Is about the British Royal family who are a bit of an addiction of mine.
11) Soulless by Gail Carriger. Is set in London a place I went to twice and am planning to visit again.
12) Changeless by Gail Carriger. Is partly set in London a place I went to twice and am planning to visit again.
13) Blamesless by Gail Carriger. The author is an archaeologist as am I.
14) Heartless by Gail Carriger. One of the character is afraid of being described as the vampire with all the cats. I am no vampire but I have been described as the girl with all the cats.
15) Timeless by Gail Carriger. The author is an archaeologist as am I.
16) Cicero by Anthony Everitt. I named one of my cats after this historical figure.
17) Lone Wolf by Katryn Lasky. Edition was published in April. The month of my birth.
18) Naamah's Kiss by Jacqueline Carey. Main character learns Nahuatl and Quechua. Languages I learned myself at University
19) Let the right one in by John Ajvide Lindqvist. Oskar is bullied in school as was I.
20) Divine by Mistake by P.C. Cast. Main character is a book lover.
21) Undead and Unpopular by MaryJanice Davidson. Main character has blond hair
22) Undead and Uneasy by MaryJanice Davidson. Main Character is a shoe lover.
23) Pandora the Curious by Joan Holub and Suzanne Williams. Main charachter is not the most popular girl in school
24) Desire by Amanda Quick. Main character is left to take care of parents household.
25) Starfleet Academy by Diane Carey. Main character impresses teachers by unconventional thinking.
