I read the first book, forever ago...I can hardly remember much about it (view spoiler)[ expect there was a blue dragon egg (hide spoiler)], but my older brother has read the entire series and really liked it (he's the one who got me to read the first one)...so I assume it's pretty good, but I'll have to re-read it!!

LOVE this series! 5/5 for all of them. But its a huge epic story with lots of traveling and battles, its not like most YA so I hope ppl know what to expect, but I really hope they enjoy it too and decide to finish the series.

I read it quite a while ago, but I remember I liked it (rated it a 4). I really need to finish the rest of the series though.

I read all of the books. I liked them a lot, but I wouldn't give them a 5. Maybe a 3 for me....toward the end I felt it dragged on a bit. But that's just me; sometimes I just don't like the style of writing. Not sure what the deal was.

High fantasy is not for everyone. It is very story driven.

Am I the only one who struggled through it? I remember reading it when I was twelve, it took me ages to finish. I thought I gave it 2 stars, but I'm not sure about that...

I think it is targeted for older readers. Mid to late teens, although adults would enjoy it too. I read it as an adult, so did my older sister and she loved it too. Its a very complex story that I dont think a 12 year old would have the patience or understanding to read.

Yes, I liked it :) Its not like most young adult books I read/read/want to read but that's not necessaril..."

Then use the group read as a opportunity to do so :P (Yes, I'm shamelessly trying to make you read it with us. Don't hate me for it, please!)

Technically, we started yesterday, but even I hadn't started it yet (college stuff :/ I barely had time to read the book I'm already reading! ><")

Oh my! That's horrible! Drink lots of tea (even if swallowing hurts) and rest (but also read, because that's good for your soul) and do absolutely NOTHING! Or else it'll take you longer to get better, and I want you better soon :]

I'm reading Son of Neptune! You can't really go wrong with Rick Riordan! :D Have you read the book?

I read it awhile ago. I would give it a 4, because I remember that I liked it. The movie...not so much.

I rated this a 3 on the initial read, but may have to try again.
