These closing chapters are both sad and amazing as you try to sort out what part (if any) of the narrative is true. Johnny’s words are unreliable, incoherent, yet still compelling to read. A testament to Danielewski’s skills, given that the entire narrative is a fiction, but seems to insist on its plausibility and possible truth.
