Caterina The Age of Miracles was close to the top of my "to read" list. This books comes with high recommendations. Honestly, I'm not really enjoying it. It's not long - less than 300 pages - so I will finish it, but I'm looking forward to moving on. Quick summary - on a typical Saturday afternoon in California, the earth slows down, literally. Days and nights are extended and forcing everyone to use clocks to keep track of time. Every day life as it has been known is trying to prevail. The characters are uncertain as to where they belong in space and time and even within their own families.

Melissa I just checked this out from the library because it seemed different and interesting. Not so much huh?

I didn't like it much either, though I found the premise of the Earth's rotation slowing interesting, but also ridiculous.

Caterina I really don't like to abandon stories but I had to let this one go. As Tina mentioned, the premise leaned toward interesting... yet the story rotated on the mundane. Onward to something unputdownable :)

Melissa I'm about half way through with this book and I must say I agree with your opinion of it. It has a really good premise to it but it doesn't live up to it.
