I agree Conners parents got on my nerves! I gues they are the reason I didnt like the book but I had reas Perfect before this so I knew what was to come. Personally i think Conner should have finished the program, flipped his parents off and never returned because Conner could have done something with his life without his parents breathing down his neck. Tony falling for Vanessa and them going out was totally unexpected for me they would fool around but I never thought it would go that far. But yeah if Tony was there Conner wouldnt have died.

IT'S A VERY GOOD BOOK! It even comes in the POV of someone mentioned in Impulse. ;)

and I cried when Conner died, though I think he had it coming when he stopped takeing his meds...

Connor was my favorite character! I agree completely that his parents should have paid more attention to him as a person, their constant coldness would have had a lot to do with his problems. But I think that it is wrong to say that Tony could have prevented it. Sure, he could have and even should have been a better friend but that alone could not have saved Connor. As controversial as it is, stopping his medications was the turning point where there was nothing any one could do to prevent his death short of force feeding them to him.

does anyone remember how old he was? b/c it would be really sad and tragic if his suicide was due to his parents, when he could have gotten away from them soon. but, on the other hand, he'd still have the same feelings about them even if he never saw them again...

I read the book a long time ago so I don't know exactly who Conner is.
But if he is the guy who jumped off the cliff at the end then no I did not want him to die.

He didn't want to stay on his meds b/c it made him feel weak that he had to rely on medication to keep him happy/alive/sain.

I didn't want Connor to die but it didn't surprise me when he did. He didn't have the support of his family and he, in my opinion,wasn't trying ot get better so him killing himself in the end was kind of inevitable so to speak

i did not want him to cry, i cried. I really liked Conner a lot and i really wished no one would have died.

You have a great point, but Vanessa, Conner, and Tony all had that same goal. But they got better and COnner didnt. I still think that instead of Conner dying, Ellen could have explained more about his life.

I actually thought they were actuallly going to forget about the past and help each other out. I never have expected the death part

in Impulse ellen didn't include what the letter said but if you read Perfect, the sequel, they showed the letter. i read them both and i was heartbroken when conner died. i mean he was my husband!

It was so sad when Connor died, I really didn't want him to but at the same time I could understand because he had a TON of pressure on him. Although, I would have chosen a different route for him because it's sad that he felt he need to do that.

I think that connor's death made the book that much more powerful but it was still sad nonetheless and I guess that's why it's my favorite book because it show that not all endings are always good...

I didn't really care. I hated Conner from the start. Maybe it's because I read Perfect first and saw how horribly he messed Kendra up.
