A good read? A bad example? Good? Bad? What do you think?

l I actually enjoyed reading the books. I read them when I was eleven, so I didn't really devote much time to really thinking about the fact that all Bella did was sit back and relax whilst Edward and Jacob did all the fighting. Every time Bella tried to fight she just broke a bone. It was kind of sad.

I also find it quite creepy that Edward watched Bella sleep for ages before she even knew about it. Even them she just let him do it. Then there was the comment: "You're like my own personal brand of heroin."

SAY WUT NOW?! Overall I just found Edward to be creepy, overprotective and strange.

Amen. I admit, I haven't read them, but I know the plot. Bella is whiny, Edward is creepy, and I just don't like the idea that much!

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) I'm debating with myself whether to read it, but with the bad responses it's been getting and the yawn inducing movies, I'm having second, third, even fourth thoughts about the possible wisdom and logic of attempting to do so:p

Yazid (Ciel) (plue) I like the movie. Although in reality it is creepy when Edward watched her sleeping... it is beautiful in the movie. But still, I do not like the books. >.< I rather watch the part when they make se- I mean, I rather watch other movies.

Alison (alison_loves_books) | 12 comments Ok. Confession time. I read the books and for a time (I was like 12) I was obsessed with them. That was also a hard time in my life. So I think the idea that someone ordinary could end up so special made me like them. Though, I don't like it now or what it has become it did help me in a tough time. Until I read Harry Potter and things changed.

I might have read them myself for the sappy love story had it not been for the fact that I don't like paranormal romance. But I'm not against anyone enjoying them. :)

I read them all.Story plot is not so good. But some cheeky lines.

Marija *Why you mad, why you sad* | 64 comments I used to like that book but it annoys me now. I can't stand Bella and Edward!

Ruth | 2483 comments I always thought that I would hate them, but my sister-in-law convinced me to watch the movies. Shockingly I really liked them. I might read the books sometime. Maybe.

★RavenclawReader★ (stargazer101) | 36 comments It was way too predictable. From the first book, you could tell she would choose Edward, and it would end 'Happily Ever After' in the end. Again, wayyy too predictable.

message 12: by Jane (new)

Jane (smallinabigworld) | 63 comments I am one of the ones that think that the books were okay before the movies, but I was never a huge fan. Now that the movies have come out, it is just cheesy and annoying. At first I was one of the few who liked Edward better, but now I think he is creepy, and overprotective, while Bella was depicted at extremely not smart. If the choice was actually set before her, she should have chose Jacob. I'm just saying that it would be the logical choice, not that I like either, but Jacob ages for one, and he could protect her so much better with her still being able to be human. Edward just put her in a bunch of useless danger. Again, now it is just kind of annoying and cheesy. Plus, the movies have the worse special effects ever!

T.J. The twilight series started me on fiction so I owe a lot the books. :)

Hey shadowhunter girl, your username wouldn't be because of the Mortal Instruments series would it? because those are my absolutely favorite books!

Faye (asdfayeiouvwxyz) | 269 comments I read twilight, didn't like it, so I didn't read the rest of the saga. The movie's trailer for twilight was pretty cool, so I watched the movie even if I didn't like the book. I didn't like it much too.

It's not Meyer's way of telling the story though, it's the plot that I didn't like. Maybe I'm just not into vampires and girls who go out with vampires.

Do you think twilight had a slight influence on the books teens read today though? When I go to bookstores (on teens section), most of the books they display were all about vampires, or at least, they have black covers looking all mysterious...Not sure if that's only for the one at the branch near my place.

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 60 comments I'm apathetic to it, but I did like the Renesmee and Jacob connection, which some people seem to dislike

message 17: by Arielle Rae (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 60 comments He 'imprinted' on Bella's baby, Renesmee, which is like claiming her as his soul mate

And please don't base the whole Paranormal Romance genre on Twilight and don't make stereotypes about that said genre. PNR is not all about vampires you know. YA PNR doesn't even compare to the Adult ones and those existed a long time before Twilight, so please don't say anything about it until you know more about the whole genre and have read a whole range of books in it

Sorry to get all testy, but I read a lot of PNR series and quite like them ^^

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 60 comments Ah okay, thanks for clearing that up

And yeah, there are a lot of copycats, that's why to make everything easier, I don't read much YA books anymore, but there still are some special gems that come out from time to time :)
