I realize this is a lame way to start a thread, but I wanted to see if we could get some of us talking. Right now I am reading two books, Lusitania; an epic tragedy and The Girl Next Door. Two very different stories that have allowed me to keep my mind busy. Every so often I like to get a nice historical piece, like Lusitania, because to me it is a different style of reading. When I have one of those books going, I will usually be reading another piece that is more story and plot based. Not to say it is better, just very different. The Girl Next Door has proven to be a very disturbing thriller, though I am sure there are people that feel that way about my novel. Its interesting to see how the author is making the reader HATE the main character and yet root for him at times. I could see some aspects of this author's writing making it into my next novel. :D

Finished The Girl Next Door. I was suprised by the effect it had on me. It was not your traditional page turner where you wanted to see what happend next. I couldn't put it down, but only because I wanted to get to the end so the girl could stop being in pain. I liked the book, but it was certainly something new for me. I think I'm going to take a step back in time and read The Shinning. I love SK and have never gotten around to reading this complete book. I am expecting it to be better than the movie, so I'm excited!!
