This poll is influenced by the threads showing old photographs and Charlie Chaplin films where "real time travellers" appear to be spotted :)

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Tej, I pick 'YES, to both past and future.'

Here's why:

The concept of time & its implications (time passing) are how humans relate to each other & relate to our shared existence, it's how we define ourselves.

When you ask someone "How are you?" or "What's new with you?" it's implied "Since the last time we connected."

When we wonder at the condition of society, or humanity as a whole, it's always through the prism of the passage of time; again it's how we can relate, how we do relate.

Yet it has always struck me as strange that humans are the only life form that aren’t constricted by time, for WE CAN ALL Time Travel & do so on a regular basis.

Anyone can travel to the past by thinking of his or her childhood (or anything in our past) & we all travel to the future whenever we plan our next vacation or trip to the store.

OK, you too clever Howard, I have now changed the wording to PHYSICALLY time travel!

The options are clickable by the way, the results will appear when you do.

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Oh, well then, I still vote the same, & for reasons I think are obvious.

Vickie | 63 comments I know this is going to sound contradictory, but well, there you are...

I love time travel stories. I'd love to time travel myself, and if I could, there is at least one past event that I would try to change.

However, I don't think it is possible or ever will be possible. And, I don't think it would be a good idea to time travel even if it was possible. Which is why I selected "No and I don't even wish it to be true, we'd be in a right mess if it was!" on the poll.

And its the wisest option too :) I'm not very wise, unfortunately, so I voted No but I wish it were true.

So far not even us time travel fans believe in time travel. Doesnt bode well for its existence does it :(

Kevin Martin (KevinDM) | 24 comments (I know this is a very late comment but just wanted to contribute)... I do believe time travel is possible. We just have to find a way to make it happen. We know the past, but maybe we need something to connect us to the past and draw us there. We don't know the future but when you come upon a road you haven't been on before, you can see whats coming towards you and what is ahead. Maybe time travel has already been invented, its just that the time jumpers are doing it in secret.

I do not think its possible to change the past though. If you were to kill your grandfather, it wouldn't be possible because you've killed your future self which you would need in order to kill your grandfather. You following me?

Kevin, this well-known Paradox can be rendered moot depending on how you define Time, or rather how Time is perceived by you, or by anyone else.

One can, you see, always think outside that box.

I do.

To answer this question, I present a video that I recently discovered on You Tube which you can find on my blog:

Proof that time travel is real? You decide.
