A character I hate is Ryoden, because he's an abusive, manipulative, pedophile...I have a hard time seeing past the fact that Dani is 14. I don't care if she is going to be epic some day, right now she is a child and it's weird.
I am super sad with the way Christian has turned out. He was my favorite nonMac or Barrons character and it was almost physically painful for me to read.

Cruce didn't really pop for me in this book. I forgot about him, actually, whenever he wasn't in the scene. He's like that annoying actor in an otherwise engaging film that every time he appears on screen you're like, oh, him. Again. Great. And then you're racing through the pages to get to the next part that he's not in.

Great analogy, "oh him," lol

Naoms: Agree with you on the Cruce part. He didn't have enough of a part to make it interesting enough to interupt the rest of the story for, more like annoying filler setting up for something else.
But I have to totally disagre with the rest, sorry :) I loved Ryodan in this book, his arrogance is at a level to rival even Barrons arrogance. He is mysterious and sexy and I don't see pedophile at all. I think both him and Christian see that Dani is still only 14 and needs to mature. I see their possesiveness as their way of protecting her from other predators until that time she is mature and then they will stake their claim. As for Dani being a child, even at 14 I don't see Dani as a typical child, she does need to mature more sure but she isn't a typical 14 year old at all.
Now Christian, I absolutely loved the way KMM made his character so complex. In all her other books all the McKeltars were always the good guys and rightous in everything. It is great to see the way Christian is struggling with being that good human guy and fighting with his unseelie urges (and sometimes losing the fight). I like the just plain creepiness about him,the way he seems to go from human thoughts to unsellie thoughts without even noticing it, but also his gentleness with regards to his emotions for Dani, even though he knows they are wrong. Basically loved everything about the book.

I have to agree about Lor. I didn't think much of him at first, but as the book went on, I really wanted more of him.
I think there's obviously more to the Cruce storyline than we get in this book. I am interested to see where KMM takes it because it's obviously not finished yet.
