My first reaction to the book was that it seemed interesting. Yes it does grab the readers attention with it's dialogue and all the imagery. It is well detailed and explained you can visualize the whole book from the text.

My first reaction was, "Wow, am I really going to like this book? Oh well, I might as well be polite and read it". It starts out kinda slow and kind of confusing but as it gets further into the book it captures your attention and you get sucked into the book.

My first Reaction was very dark world being New York it felt very different but from the start it was interesting, it starts fast and keeps going and doesn't slow down. The dialog along with the drawing it was fun making voicing for the characters and with the time its set in it felt so real.

My first reaction was that the book is kinda boring, i put it down and read something else. When i picked it up again it started to read more and it got interesting. It uses very little visual elements, there is very little in ways of flowery poetic wording. While the imagery is very plain it has a redeeming quality in that it is a very compelling story therefore, the story makes up for the lack of originality in the writing style.

When I first started the book, it started out with a normal high school student which books like that always grab my attention. It talked about the normal high school student having a so-called "cold" and a dead man slashed her forehead making a mark on her head in the shape of a crescent moon. And as soon as a person was marked, they were to be sent away to live in the "House of Night" because they are becoming a vampire. It is a really good book. And it caught my attention really fast.

My first reaction to this book was that is was kinda interesting. Jade starts out by talking about how she first saw Sabastian on her webcam that she had one to show the elephant section at the zoo. He would either visit with his son, or go after dark when the zoo was closed and just stand where the elephants were and just think. She then went on to describe how she was diagnosed with Panic disorder. I was really intrigued by this book. I wanted to read on because I wanted to know who the boy in the red jacket with the baby was. I also wanted to know how her panic disorder was going to play out through the whole book. I was surprised with the whole imaging. I could almost see everything that went on in Jades life, and in her thoughts, I could almost imagine what is like for her whenever she had one of her panic attachs. I liked how Jade wasn't afraid to speak what she was feeling and to be herself around others. The whole thing caught my full attention.

When i first started, it had a continuum from the previous book. ive read most other alex rider novels and this is the most interesting one ive started on. It seems very interesting and it grabbed my attention from the very beginning.

My first reaction to this book is that the cover looked really girly, so I figured it'd be a chick book. The beginning has just start off introducing the main character Katherine. It describes how she is; her personality, and everyone surrounding her. As well as the other soon to be main character, Micheal. In which she has a crush on. :]

When I first got this book, I was thinking, "Whoa, it's about my favorite movie." The first part of it was interesting because Anakin and Obi-Wan are fighting in outer space trying to save Palpatine. The imagery grabs the attention of the reader.

What is your first reaction/response to the book? When i first read it i thought it was boring but as i got to know the characters i fell in love with the plot and it captured my attention, its start off with a lot of dialogue because its a play, on and off stage.

My first reaction to the book was to stop reading it. The book kind of starts off slow.

At the beginning it used imagery, but its not really something that you will enjoy reading, you have to read a little more before it becomes interesting.

I could relate to the main character, Siddalee Walker, immediately. My first reaction was to keep reading. The imagery and dialogue are interesting because the book takes place in Louisiana and everyone knows Louisiana is a different kinda southern.

The title attracted me to pick up the book, the first sentence of chapter one made me think that the story was about Botticelli's painting, Birth of Venus. But once I started reading the prologue the mystery started to unravel itself and it caused me to keep reading.

What is your first reaction/response to the book?
It is very different it talks about a white male wanting to go undercover for research as a black man. Does it start out interesting? yes Does it use imagery or dialogue to grab the attention of the reader? Yes it dose you use imagery and dialog mostly facts to grab the attention.

My first reaction was kind of confusing because it is a series of books in order to understand this book I'm reading but has i kept reading along i started to get the hang of what is was talking about. It both because at the same time there is dialogue but then it is balanced out by using imagery in order to describe the scene & climate in which the conversations take place at.

My first reaction to this book was interest, i found the wonderland world to be interesting, it has taken an interesting turn here and there and its a new spin on an old tail.

This book opens with Nick at a concert when his ex walks in with another boy and he tries to make her jealous by kissing Norah. The book uses dialogue to ensnare the reader

I enjoyed the beginning of this book; it draws the reader into the (for me) unfamiliar world of Judaism with diction specific to this religion. The exposition is written as if the narrator is telling it retrospectively. It did a good job of grabbing the reader's attention.
"Two steps ahead of the thought police" by John Leo
My book started of Controversial to say the least. It's about the authors visit to an art studio that's featuring an exhibit seemingly about political correctness. As the author claims, its not really about art, but about "victimization, imperialism, patriarchy, and the dreadful stigma of white skin". I found it kind of funny how the author immediately sets up that he's opposed to this kind of thinking. I always love reading the rantings of the far right.
