I'm enjoying it so far, Nadine. I'm only through the first nested story segment and into the second. Initially, the first story was rough going for me, due to subject matter, but I was finally able to get into it, due to sheer talent of the author. (Colonialism and marginalization of indigenous populations always gets me cranky.) But the next segment (about a composer) is shaping up nicely. (Mitchell is certainly adept at writing in several diverse styles...It's like several books in one, from historical fiction to sci-fi. And although the subject matter of story #1 was difficult for me to love, there's no denying the author's writing prowess and ability to deftly portray believable characters and to pull you right in to his settings.)
I've had it at home for years yet never cracked it until now. I want to read it before I consider seeing the movie.

My first day was not thaaaat successful, but I loved my books, the short story is retelling a bit from one of my fav books (Divergent) from the perspective of one of my absolute book heroes. :-)
Beta is very good as well, nearing the end and I am already dreading that the next part will be a year or so away :-(.
