It's time to get your New Year resolutions ready. Below are a few of the top resolutions people make in January. Please pick a resolution from below and read a book that fits with the option you choose.

1. Get Fit/Lose Weight: Read a non-fiction book about getting fit, exercising, or eating healthier. Or knock some lbs. from your "owned to be read" pile by reading a book you already own but haven't gotten to yet.

2. Quit Smoking: Read a book with smoke or fire on the cover. Or has any form of the word smoke or fire in the title or subtitle.

3. Drink Less Alcohol: Read a book with an alcoholic beverage on the cover, in the title, or subtitle. Or read a fiction or non-fiction book book with a storyline that revolves around alcohol in some way. Here's a GRs list that might help: Booze. As usual, use caution with the GRs lists. Make sure the book you choose actually fits the task.

4. Save Money/Manage Debt: Read a book with a mainly green cover, a non-fiction book about saving money or managing debt, or a book you got for free (from the library, a book swap, as a gift, free download, etc.).

5. Take a Trip/Vacation: Read a book that takes place in a country you want to visit.

Required: Identify the resolution you picked when you post. If using one of the cover options please include the cover when posting. If using the trip/vacation option please include the country you want to visit

Marna | 28 comments Lula Bell on Geekdom, Freakdom & the Challenges of Bad HairResolution 4 - This was (surprise!) a book I checked out from the library.
Lula is a 5th grader who wants, above all else to fit in. The book is the story of how, after the loss of her best friend, she begins to value her own, and other people's differences.

Jane | 47 comments Lost In Italy by Stacey Joy Netzel (350 pages) A thriller with a romance in the bargain. Although I would prefer not to get lost, I would live to visit Italy.

tiffany fulbright (tuffany) | 9 comments I read the Husband List by Jannet Evonavich. It is set in England, in the 1800's. It's a love story about a woman who was suppose to be an arranged marriage, but she doesn't love the guy. It's wonderful. The Husband List 320 pages.

Kalen Fulbright | 21 comments What Doesn't Kill You by Iris Johansen I chose option #5 and read Iris Johansen's What Doesn't Kill You. The setting was in Hong Kong and other areas of China. 572 pages.

Lynn | 24 comments The Engine 2 Diet The Texas Firefighter's 28-Day Save-Your-Life Plan that Lowers Cholesterol and Burns Away the Pounds by Rip Esselstyn The Engine 2 Diet is a book that features a plant based eating (vegan)diet that originated in a Firehouse in Texas when 3 firefighters argued about who had the lowest cholesterol. One of the guys had a level of 344 so they all started eating vegan. This book provides the tools to adapt an entire new lifestyle of healthy eating and fitness. My husband and I started the 28 day challenge this week and are looking forward to many healthy years ahead (but right now we are hungry!) Qualifies for item #1 above. 259 pages.

Gift (Crown's Spies, #3) by Julie Garwood

This book qualifies under option 4, as it is one I got from a library...

The Gift is the second in a series by Julie Garwood. In it, two warring families are united by a crazy King George by a marriage contract (including prizes, the so called "gift" for keeping to the contract, in other words, creating offspring). Nathan, 14 is wed to Lady Sara, 4. After years go by, Nathan finally goes after his bride, expecting a fight instead he intercepts her fleeing into the night and gets screamed to death by an angry-tired-of-waiting-for-him bride.

Naturally there is more to this story as well and is in fact a supremely entertaining read, due to mishaps, accidents, pirates and parasols.

Unfortuneately, one should never read it right after reading Guardian Angel. There are holes and inconsistencies...that are like flies buzzing around a room. It destroys some of the fun.

581 pages

4. Save Money/Manage Debt: I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I thought it was very helpful! I would most definitely recommend it! 197 pgs.
