Monica | 43 comments In the fantasy book, Marked, by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast, Zoey, the protagonist has a weakness. And that weakness is loving the sight of blood so much, that she wants to drink every bit of it in the entire world. She got marked recently in her old high school and woke up with a completely different from normal mark. Her mentor at the house of night clearly felt astonished and all her fellow fledgling friends feels astounded by her gift from Nyx. But the last thing Zoey wanted was: thirst for blood. She felt like a freak for doing this, wanting this, but she has no other choice. "It is abnormal for a fledgling, especially a newly marked fledgling be so hungry for fresh blood. You must be very special, Zoey....." This quote shows how Neferet likes and appreciate her stay in the house of night. Zoey at last feels safe and comforted. But on the other hand, Aphrodite is using her training for high pristess to banish Zoey away from the dark daughters and sons. Zoey feels the urge to stand for whats right.

Jack Brill | 41 comments In the non-fiction book "The Captain" by Ian O' Connor. Derek Jeter's greatest weakness is when a ground ball is hit to his left side because not only it's his on the other side of of his glove he also has to reach across his body so this shows that ground balls hit to the left of Derek Jeter is his greatest weakness.

Elva C. | 40 comments In the fantasy book, Betrayed by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast, Zoey, the protagonist, has a weakness. Her weakness is her Grandma. In the book, when Zoey was in the stable, she heard a someone. Zoey was unsure of who was wailing like he/she was in pain. So, she went towards the noise. She finds out that it was Aphrodite, and she was having a vision. Zoey was about to leave her until Aphrodite tells her that she shouldn't and should listen to her vision, or else, her grandma would die. "Tell me what you see!" This quote shows that Zoey is worried about her grandma. When Aphrodite told Zoey to listen to her vision, Zoey was about to leave her because she is a very mean girl that is not to be trusted. When she heard that her grandma is in trouble, she starts to panic and get worried. Aphrodite's vision was that grandma Redbird is going to be in a car accident, and she will fall off a bridge when she is driving. When Zoey heard Aphrodite's vision, she keeps on asking her for more information, so she can save her grandma. Since grandma Redbird was like the only close family, Zoey didn't want to lose her. Zoey's grandma is really supportive, and they always listen to each other. Zoey's mom changed ever since she got re-married, and she really hated her new step-dad. That is why Zoey doesn't want to lose her grandma.

Ivan (ivanski711) | 30 comments In the fantisy book The Warrior Heir by Cinda W. Chima my protagonist has an not yet discovered weakness. That weaknes is with him every day infact its inside of his body, and that is his "medicine". He resently forgot to take his medicine and when he had soccer try outs he barley touch on of the varcity team players and sent him flying into the goaly net. Then when his mom comes home she find s thee medicine bottle still on the table, that got her really scared so the whole town was looking for him. Then my protagonist takes the medicine the next day and feels a whole lot different from when he didint take the madicine yesterday. He then divelups a curiosity for what the medicine dose for him because when he forgot to take it he felt better than ever. " Lobeck screamed and then went flying, following the ball into the net." This quote shows how the medicine dosent allow him to go to him un taped patential and full power. He feels like his trapped in a world full of wonerfull things but can't see any of it because he is blind.

Justin Yu | 20 comments In the mystery book " the vault" by Ruth Rendell the protagonist struggles with a weakness. He tries to over come it but can't seem to do so. He is afraid of what will happen in the chamber. That chamber was a secret that no one was supposed to know about but now that one more person ended up in there he wonders, "Am I next?"

Mark | 33 comments In the fantasy book The Scorch Trials by James Dashner, the protagonist Thomas, has a weakness, and that weakness is not being able to see Teresa anymore. Thomas, Teresa, and various gladers made it out of the glade trials. Currently they are in a different trial which is more advanced than the glade. Thomas and Teresa have been separated and now Thomas has to force himself to move on without her. The way Thomas’s weakness affects him is, whenever he is lonely he reflects on Teresa and gets disturb, baffled, and he causes a scene. Also Thomas desires Teresa because he feels comfortable when she is around and when she isn’t around he feels terrified and insecure. Thomas needs Teresa because without her Thomas is somewhat useless. A quote from the book that shows Thomas’s weakness. “Thomas enjoyed being so close, but it seemed so bizarre and out of the blue. Then he had a surge of guilt thinking about Teresa that he didn’t notice that Brenda was telling him to run.” This quote shows Teresa is Thomas‘s weakness because he almost died because he was too busy thinking about Teresa. Furthermore Thomas could have been killed if he hadn’t snapped out of his flashback of Teresa.

In the realistic fiction book "A Step from Heaven" by An Na, the protagonist is Young Ju who is a teenager and she happens to be the one who goes for a better future, but a part of her family affects her a lot. The part of the family seems to be Young Ju's father, he had got himself in trouble and drags his family along. Young Ju was younger when she moved to America with her family for a better future. After awhile, Young Ju's father realized his hope wasn't going well and he started getting in trouble. He got drunk many times and also got his driver's license suspended. The family is now living in a poor condition and also have to deal with Young Ju's father's issues. One day, Apa who is Young Ju's father takes his anger to another level. Apa got so mad that he wasn't getting much hope that he started getting violent. All the events that Apa caused greatly became Young Ju's fear and weakness. When Apa got his license suspended, he still goes for his ride. On page 94 (Pages Different on Nook), "I begin to worry that maybe they'll recognize me. See me as the daughter of the man they arrested." The quote shows what Young Ju was thinking in her head when there were cops ahead of her and Apa was out driving with no license. It made her worried. That was one of the biggest impact on Young Ju. Apa became Young Ju's biggest weakness. Also when the night Apa was hitting the family, she was also nervous about the bad results. Apa was not only Young Ju's weakness. Apa was also a weakness to Young Ju's brother, Joon, and Young Ju's mother, Uhmma. Joon started to skip school and Uhmma was also worried like Young Ju. Apa happened to be the weakness to the whole family, but especially Young Ju.

Steven Lin | 27 comments In the realistic fiction book Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, The protagonist Charlie is a thirty two year old mentally retarded man. For Charlie being retarded he has been taken advantage of before. He has been made fun of by his so called friends. With Charlie being retarded and not understanding the world he thinks that the people that are making fun of him are just playing with him. Another example that Charlie being retarded is a weakness in his life is, when his mom was trying to teach him. His mom keeps pushing him even though he can't do it mentally and physically. She beats Charlie when he don't get it. Charlie is also dose not know his own physical reactions. When he see a bunch of girls he just stares at them. His mom finds out about it and beats him some more. These examples show that Charlie being retarded is his weakness.

Sara | 17 comments In my science fiction book "Pretties" By Scott Westerfeld. Tally the protagonist's weakness is thats she doesn't know wether to be a pretty or ugly. Even though right now she turned into a pretty because she wanted a perfect life and everything to be perfect. Now Tally realized that being pretty isn't the right choice for her and she wants to become an ugly again like she used to be because the authorities don't let anybody have information like Tally does. Plus Tally still is thinking of changing back into an ugly but she's not sure yet if she still can become an ugly.

Trinity Burgos | 31 comments In the autobiography The lost Boy by Dave Pelzer, Dave's mother has a weakness. Her weakness is dave's fauther. Most of the time when his fauther is around she becomes a whole other different person. She also treats Dave differently aroung his fauther. For example durinng an argument the father had about treating Dave a certain way, she made herself seem like the person who had the right to treat him a certain way. Also, sometimes try to prove to him that she's a good mother. ''There,'' Mother triumphantly states. ''The boy did it. It's his decision. I didn't force him. Remember thats stephen I want you to do know I didn't force him.'' This text shows that Rovera was trying to prove to Dave's fauther that she's not the one to blame, also that she's not the bad person, Dave is. This proves my idea because it shows that Rovera (Dave's mother)does have a weakness to daves fauther because she wants to be the one who's proven right not wrong.

Ben Friedman | 25 comments In the story “The Hate List.” By Jennifer Brown. Valarie tells how after the incident she didn't really interact with anyone because she felt guilty. A lot of people thought she had something to do with the shooting. It's coming close to the beginning of a new school year. Her mother and counselor want her to give it a shot. Not only is it a brand new start for her, but also for her family to get their life back on track to get on with the past. Some people are glad to see her back and other not so happy. Even her old friends have changed and don't associate with her anymore. While in the hospital the detective came to interrogate Valarie. Even though she didn't know about the plan, he still had evidence to prove that she did. Valarie and Nick had always joked around about killing, she didn't know Nick would take it to next step. Mrs. Leftman didn't believe her daughter was better so she was sent to psychiatric in the hospital. Val didn't want to go due to the fact she knew nothing was wrong with her. The doctor suggested that she stay for suicide watch for a while and to get meds to help her with her rather ill mind in witch she inhabited during the mass shooting.

One weakness Val has that was brought upon her was her guiltiness. Her weakness was brought onto her when the shooting happens. She feels this way because she helped make the list that would help pinpoint she and Nicks enemas witch Nick later on killed and toped it off my shooting himself. This shows her weakness because she feels terrible about the situation because she gave insight on who should be killed.

Greg struggles to get a date for the school dance because no one knows him or likes him that much. This caused him to do crazy thinks to get a date. In the book Greg got paired with Baylee, the prettiest girl in his class, for dance class. But Greg had to listen to Barylee say "Ï didn't pick him" for three weeks. This shows Greg is not popular because when Greg got paired with the prettiest girl it showed that she did not like him.

Kailey | 23 comments in the book "New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer, Bella's greatest weakness is being left. For example when Edward left her she couldn't recover for over 2 months. But she knew it wasn't helping her so she had to do something for a change.

One of her strengths is finding someone or something to repair that empty space in her life or to just cover it up. She had been with Jacob ever since the time that Edward left he but she knew she had still loved Edward even if he had left her.She was just trying to keep herself busy so for a certain amount of time she didn't have to focus about Edward or all her other problems.

Melanie M. (MissMello) | 21 comments In my realistic fiction book "The bully" By Paul Langan,Darrell's weakness is fear because he can not defend him self from Tyray (Bully). Ever since he has been in california this guy Tyray has been picking on him and he aint got no friends in california (Yet) to protect him like His two friends always used to protect him in Philadelphia. Right now his Big decisions are to... Keep running from the bully... or find a way to fight back and not be afraid anymore.!

I Think more within the book and in 2nd part of the book Darrell Learn to fight for him self becasue his two friends are not always going to be there for him. His mom is not always going to be there when he gets home to comfort him and have a sholder to cry on. Maybe within the book Tyray would realize it not a good thing to bully cause one thing can lead to an other and things might get out of hand.

Ramsey (TheRamsey3000) | 7 comments In the fantasy book "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan the protagonist Percy Jackson's weakness is Annabeth. His weakness is Annabeth because he loves her, but he can't focus on his quest. Also, Percy needs to get the lightning bolt back to Olympus, but he can't because Annabeth keeps pulling him back. She doesn't do it on purpose, but he keeps getting distracted though the quest. He also needs to protect her from all the monsters they face on their quest so in a way she's slowing him down on his quest to return the lightning bolt. "Me, go with you to the... the 'Thrill Ride of Love'? How embarrassing is that? What if somebody saw me?" p. 234. Annabeth and Percy had to go in the tunnel of love to find something to help with the quest, but Annabeth thought it was embarrassing so the both got shy and when they didn't get what the needed they were attacked. So this is why Annabeth is Percy's weakness.

Essam Alhumoz | 20 comments In the fiction book "Marked" by Kristen Cast the protagonist is Zoe. Zoe has just been chosen to be a vampyre and has limited time before she is dead, so she has to get to The House Of Nights to learn the ways of the vampyre. Zoe has always hated her step father, but now she has been faced with the sapphire blue mark on her forehead, and she knows that her step father will torture her even more now. "I never liked him. Really." This quote shows that Zoe has no patience for her step father, and that she never even liked him, so her hate is only increasing especially with the change.
