How long owned? Just about 2 years
Primary use: Borrowing ebooks from the library and magazine subscriptions
Rooted/Hacked? Never got around to it but if I get the HD+, I will be rooting permanently
Accessories? Not really anything else besides power plug, microSD and cover
Fave App: Most used app would be the crossword game, most useful would be Dolphin browser
Overall Pros: Form factor. Even as newer Nooks have improved hardware, the NC is still light enough and comfortable to hold
Overall Cons: The touch screen isn't perfect. I've had issues where it seemed like the screen didn't register my tap, usually in the top right corner of the screen

Primary use: Reading
Rooted/Hacked? Yes with micro-SD Card
-
Accessories? None except Charger and less expensive cover purchased on line.
Fave App: Nook Reader so I do not have to reboot between Tablet and Nook. I can read my Nook books while in Tablet mode.
Overall Pros: Works great using a browser when I don't want to bother going from the living room to computer room.
Overall Cons: Same as Kat's; sometimes my tap doesn't register, sometimes it registers 2 or 3 times. Also B&N limits what apps you can load onto the Nook Color, supposedly for the user's protection. This is solved by rooting the Nook Color and loading apps in Android mode.

How long owned? I had my Nook Color 2 years and my Nook Tablet 1 year.
Primary use: Reading books
Rooted/Hacked? No
Accessories? Cover and screen protector for both.
Fave App: K9 for Nook on both. This email app is so much betterthen the one that comes with it.
Overall Pros: Size, Expandable memory, speed. I liked my other Nooks so much that I have ordered the new Nook HD+.
Overall Cons: Again screen is touchy to work with. On mine you have to have a light touch. You have to keep the screen clean or it will give you problems with not being responsive. Also the browser is terrible and sound is heard to hear without buds.

Try Dolphin for a browser, if you haven't, much better, I think.
I downloaded Dolphin and do like it. It seems to be faster. Its different and will have to learn the in and outs but like it so far.

Primary use: Reading books, magazines, and some light browsing on the internet. I mostly read on it more than anything. Oh, I also play "Words With Friends" and "Scrabble", haha.
Rooted/Hacked?: I bought an N2A card, which has the ability to boot up the Nook with Android Jellybean, and it gives me the tablet functioning without permanently rooting it. (All I have to do to revert to stock software is take out the card and re-boot without re-writing the original OS.) Since the Color wasn't really designed with software to handle all that very well, it tends to be slower, so I don't tend to use that mode often, just now and then when I want to access my Kindle books or better browsing.
Accessories?: I have a few flip-covers, got some decals for it that make it quite spiffy, and protective screen covers. Otherwise, nothing besides the charger and cord.
Fave App: "Words With Friends"
Overall Pros: It's super user-friendly, and they've upgraded it quite a bit past the initial stages. The initial Adobe reader was atrocious, since it would only scroll down, had no option for bookmarking, and would revert to page one when closed and opened it back up. So much better now. It's just a nice, easy-to use reader, with the option of light tablet functions for fun.
Also, the "read-to-me" kids books are awesome. My two year-old adores them.
Overall Cons: The software is much more stable now, though in the beginning, it wasn't. It used to freeze and crash regularly. I wish they had more options for app downloading, as in a true open Android platform, but I can understand in many ways why they don't, since it controls the performance and keeps the basic experience how they want it.
I wish it came with more internal memory, because I don't enjoy having to buy larger microSD cards when it should have more than 5GB of memory on board. I also wish it gave you the option of storing your B&N purchases (like magazines) on the external card and not in the internal memory. Not a deal-breaker by any means, especially if you're not into tech stuff and it doesn't matter, but I have a large library, and like to have it all with me. I'm a nerd like that.
The BIGGEST issue I have had is with the charging cords and accessories. They are not made to withstand a lot of uses, and I have to treat them like babies, since I've gone through four or five of them already (I've lost count, which is terrible, since I've had some other USB phone cords for well over five years now). I've also heard they're being pulled from most stores as they move on to pushing the new HD and HD+ models, which is lame.

I actually loved my Nook Color-I received the Nook HD as a gift or else I would have kept using my color.
:(

I was finally given a Nook tablet instead since I was going on my 5th replacement, so far so good.

I'm really gonna miss it when it stops working one day, haha.
