My name's Dustin. I've been an active member since September 2010, and Goodreads has become like a second family to me. I enjoy a wide variety of genre's, but my all-time favorite writer is King. Ted Dekker is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite!

I'm Barb and I've been following Goodreads for a year or to. Sometimes more than others. Stephen King is my all time favorite author but I will read almost anything. I just love to read.

Should have mentioned, I'm 30, a father of one and from a little town near Liverpool UK. Feel free to add me as a friend on here. I only have four :¬(. :¬)

I'm Tanya, and I'm from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
My first Stephen King book was Pet Sematary. After that, I started picking my way through his work. I really enjoyed It, Misery, and the Dark Tower series.
More recently, I was very impressed with 11/22/63, it was superb!

Welcome Mal! I'm in the same boat, I have only just started using Goodreads and only have a few friends so far so I will take you up on your offer and will follow your lead in inviting others to add me :)

thanks for the add. I think what makes sites like this work is user interaction. I have a short attention span at the best of times. Hoping to get involved and meet new people. :¬)

Hey y'all. I'm Kyle, husband and father of three from South Boston. I've been reading KING since I was a teen. It is my favorite King book. Recently read 11/22/63 and it is a modern masterpiece of literature.

I've been a fan of King since I read The Dead Zone back in the 80's. He's really a master story crafter.
King is a very versatile writer. 11/22/63 showed the magnitude of his talent. IT was my first King book. I was hooked from thereon in.

Glad to hear your a fan of It. I just bought the book but haven't dug into it yet. I also have `Salem's Lot on my shelf. I will probably read that one first.

I'm a huge King fan, Kathryn. IT will always be my favorite novel by him. It will scare you, be prepared.
I didn't care for Salem's Lot, but I hope you enjoy it. I liked the 1979 movie adaptation of Salem's Lot much better than the book.
Have you read any other books by KING?

IT is my favorite King book by far. I have yet to read The Stand because I'm not into apocalyptic novels.
I've read them all and I recommend them highly.

Kyle- I love that you included Hearts In Atlantis and Rose Madder!!

Yes, I've read a handful so far. Under the Dome is my all-time favorite book, King or not. I read The Shining a few months ago and have also read 11-22-63 (very good,) Cell and Gerald's game. Also just finished Joyland. I'm trying to get a few books ahead in my 2013 reading challenge because It will probably take me a while to get through. It looks like it is about the same length as Under the Dome.

I liked Joyland but I thought it was mostly drama. I was thinking it was going to be a book about horrific things happening at an amusement park, but it was not so. Still worth reading, though.

Mine, too!

My favorites are IT, The Green Mile, The Stand, and a few more. I couldn't read Misery.
I like his short stories as well.
Thanks!

That's me. King's a God through and through! And before I forget, 11/22/63 and Under the Dome. Stellar books I tell you. Eagerly awaiting Doctor Sleep. And really need to read Joyland as well!!!!!!

Hi Soumyabrata its great to have you in the group.I believe I used to be the only member in the group from India (if there is anyone else they are not active).
King is my favorite author too & I hope you continue to enjoy his books.I too love Salem's Lot among the books you stated.I would love to recommend The Dead Zone & Pet Sematary to you amongst King's work if you have not read them yet.

I am a huge Stephen King fan even though I have only read a few of his many books. I am also trying to branch out into new authors so I am always open for suggestions. Loved Salems Lot and the first three books of the Dark Tower series but have not started the fourth yet. Thoroughly enjoyed Joyland and am currently reading Hearts in Atlantis. Glad to be apart of a group of Stephen King fans.

Hey Aditya! Funny, you should say that, The Dead Zone was the book that I went out to buy right after I had posted my last message. Unfortunately for me, it was unavailable. Haven't read Pet Semetary either though... And honestly, I really have not seen that many King fans among the people I know. It is awesome to see someone from India who is passionate about King's works as well! What are you reading now? Happy reading btw!

Thanks & I am reading Skeleton Crew by King.I have not seen many King fans in India either though most people usually like the movies made from his books.

Completely agree boss. Well after much fretting I decided to start reading the The Dark Tower Series... again! But have you read any of Joe Hill's books? He is as good as his father. Give Horns or Heart Shaped box a try if you can. I will soon start with 20th Century Ghosts. Got the package today itself. And am eagerly awaiting Nos4a2!

I had not started The Dark Tower series or read anything by Joe Hill yet. Most horror fans rate Hill highly.I would give his books a try but my to read list is overflowing at the moment.Maybe once I finish with his father's books I will move on to the son.

I would highly recommend Hill as well! Hill's style of writing is good and his novels sure manage to pack a punch!

I am Amber O'Shea. I have nine novels written, working on ten and eleven all while looking for an agent ^_^.
I saw some post about Stephen King and have to say I owe that man a lot and hope I can tell him that one day. ^_^.
Have a wonderful day <3

Hi I'm Rick. I know I'm giving away my age here but I was first introduced to Stephen by way of his short stories in men's magazines when I was in the military. I recall seeing his first novel Carrie, on the shelf at the PX and remembering his name from his short stories, I picked it up. I've been hooked ever since. While I haven't read everything he's written, I've read most of it and have enjoyed this journey immensely.
