I just picked up an older edition of After the Banquet which was a bestseller in Japan, and did alright here (as far as I can tell), and it reminded me of the failure that was my first attempt at an orchestrated group-read.

I welcome anyone to add the Asian books they want to read to the group shelf, and maybe in January we will have a larger amount to do a vote from to do our first group read. The other idea I think would work would be to start a thread for us to come together and find at least another person interested in reading the same book we are, so we're not reading alone, sort of a 'buddy-read'.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving US-dwellers, and here's to a Happy Christmas!

Stefanie (stefiemichelle) I'd be interested in a group read, or a buddy-read, at the very least. I'm reading Thai literature right now, but I'd like to read some more Korean literature after I delved into Please Look After Mom. The only other Korean author I'm familiar with is Richard E. Kim, though.

Add any books you'd like to the shelf, I'll see if I can find some more Korean books as well.

Hock Tjoa (hockgtjoa) I'd like to volunteer my The Battle of Chibi (Red Cliffs) by Hock G. Tjoa to the shelf. It is my translation of selections from the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms."
