THG got me started reading dystopian! Awesome book. Anyone else a fan?

I am but not in an obsessive way like I am with HP but it was a really good series! I enjoyed it.

It's my favorite series! Mockingjay is my fav. :)

Yay! Glad to see some fans of this series :) It totally got me hooked on dystopian so I started reading every dystopian I could get my hands on.

So whose Team is everyone on? I'm Gayle, but don't hit me, I know I might be in the minority :)

Same! It opened up a whole new genre! I'm Team Gale too, he's just as kick-ass as Katniss so they are evenly matched :)

Have you seen the movie? I almost switched to Peeta after watching it :P

Omg -5! Ugh, it's warm here but last two days have been rainy :) But that's ok, not complaining, I got lots of work done inside! The movie was AWESOME! The Reaping scene was so interest and perfectly done. I couldn't switch though, Peeta's just too much of a weakling and Gale was her friend and had the crush on her first :)

You're a writing machine haha. Completely agree with you and the soundtrack is just perfect for writing to :D haha yeah but I think it's more to do with my love for Josh Hutcherson!

LOL thanks, I'm sort of obsessive about my series at the moment! That makes sense! I thought that might be the reason :)

This is one that I'm not strongly on a team. I really liked both of them, but I'm glad Suzanne Collins made the decision a little easier, because I was wondering how she could ever choose!

Also loved this series! And then I started rummaging through the YA section at my bookstore and have been hooked on dystopian YA ever since!!

... okay no one yell at me but I hate Gale. No idea why.. I just hated him.. I'm not really Team Peeta either.... the only guy character I fell in love with was Cato. I always love the villains.

HG was the first dystopia I read and I was never thought I would like it. I was always big on romance books before HG so hearing about a book where kids fight to the death I was like I will NOT like this... within 2 chapters I was in love with the book and now Dystopian is my all time favourite genre.

Team Peeta all the way ;)

I've only read the first book... I don't actually have a team. I liked the book, but I wasn't really 100% sold on either boy. I do like Katniss, though

I loved The Hunger Games, but the sequels kind of disappointed me. They were like copies of the first book but with some details changed.

Oh yeah, I know! LOL She should!! It would take her like three weeks to put out an entire trilogy :P

hahaha probably... she is a writing machine. I'm pretty sure she has 7 books coming out in 2013... at least 7.

yeah I think all but the last one is already finished. Considering she goes through months and months of edits and stuff she publishes so much in a year

I loved the Hunger Games especially the 1st book. I think the movie was pretty well done and didn't travel too far from the storyline. I think they did a really good job of Rue's death scene, it was so sad!
I didn't like the ending of Mockingjay. I almost felt like the ending was rushed and as though the author had become bored with the series.
I was a big Gale fan from the beginning he did an awful lot for not only Katniss but her whole family.
One of my most favourite characters in the series was Cinna.

I liked HG, but not like everyone else who loves it. I actually liked the Gregor the Overlander series by Suzanne Collins better. And this is how I determined that I don't really like dystopia and prefer paranormal or fantasy.

I loved the first two HG books, but the third was a waste of time. Not happy with Hollywood splitting the third book into two movies. It is keeping me from buying the dvd of the one already released.

Ugh, I hate how they always do that! Three books = three movies. Even the Lord of the Rings managed to do it (although that made the movies a zillion hours long LOL!) (Which I loved every minute of!)

LOL that seems to be a common theme for people. It's really hard to write a trilogy where all three books are equally good. I liked but didn't love Mockingjay, but I had REALLY high expectations :P

I read all of the 3 books in a row. I have never been so immersed in a story like with THG (and Delirium).

Am I the only one who wasn't on any team up untill halfway through catching fire? Yes? *.*

It was actually something Haymitch said that made me like Peeta even more. I think Peeta has much more strength than people credit him to, not physical strength, but he's a born leader. He has a charisma, you know?


Actually I read how much people where dissapointed with Mockingjay so I didn't have much high hopes, but the series was so good, that I didn't mind Mockingjay falling of the awesome wagon a bit. :)

The problem with Mockingjay is that it's about war, sneaking around, and set-up stuff. It didn't have the action or excitement of the previous two books, making it seem slightly boring in comparison. However, I wanted to know what would happen so badly that I FLEW through it!

I really liked Gale, but like you, Reem, I wasn't on a strong team until Catching Fire. During that book, I fell in love with Peeta. But I still liked Gale, so I had a hard time figuring out who I thought she should be with!

I think my favorite character was Cinna. His death still bothers me the most of all of them, I think. Though Prim's wasn't exactly wonderful either.

I can never figure out how they're going to make the scene with Prim into a movie. That'll be tough.

I can accept Hollywood splitting the book into 2 movies when they are 2 million pages long, like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Breaking Dawn, but Mockingjay wasn't that long, so they are blatantly just in it for the money.

I liked Peeta better after he went crazy and was trying to kill Katniss. How's that for a love-hate relationship! I thought Katniss would miss him and his devotion and if he could get himself back together they would work it out. I always favored Gayle until he got too political.

That's a good point Marla. I agree with Harry Potter for sure, I'd take ten more of those!

Read all the books back to back in a matter of days; I don't know what happened, just couldn't stop.

Mockingjay seemed a little rushed to me and the end was unexpected (still reeling from that one). I mean, seriously!!

I am not really on Team Gale or Team Peeta (sort of somewhere in the middle); But, I am completely team Katniss (Oh Betty Friedan would be so proud with my choice - that's my feminist side talking right now)

Back to Hunger Games, Finnick and Haymitch are definitely on my really like list; Woody Harrelson as Haymitch was really amazing - he is such an underrated actor. I didn't like the rest of the film (I was cringing most of the time with the bad direction). Hope Catching Fire is better as a film at least.
