Since we're in December now, we can start looking through our yearly reading and decide which hero tops them all.

You don't have to choose now, but start thinking, so by January 1st, you can answer this very important question!

message 2: by Jill (new)

Jill This is going to be really hard. I find it hard enough to have a hero of the month.

Kryptonite (sg34) | 406 comments I like this thread.

Okay, how many can I pick? I've got 11 as of today.

Awilk -never sleeps- (awilk) | 98 comments I don't think I will be able to pick just one. Will study what I have read this year and think about it.

Has anyone decided who their hero of 2012 was?

message 10: by Jill (new)

Jill Okay, I have decided and this was a really hard thing to do.
My hero of 2012, my absolute solidly favourite man/hero from a novel this year was..drum roll!!!!

Joe Callahan from Kristen Ashley's At Peace At Peace (The 'Burg, #2) by Kristen Ashley .

Curran will come in a solid second. I almost couldn't choose , but there I have done it.

Sorry to all my other book heros, you are all fabulous but Joe really was something special to me.

Awilk -never sleeps- (awilk) | 98 comments I know I am late, but have finally decided who my number one is.
Luke from Rock Chick Revenge (Rock Chick, #5) by Kristen Ashley .

He was a Triumph man who listened to Tom Petty music, and that made him perfect for me.

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Having a very difficult time deciding between Hawke in Kiss of Snow and John Devlin on The Graveyard series.
If I absolutely had to pick I would go with Devlin.

message 13: by Pallavi (new)

Pallavi (threequartersthedevil) | 78 comments Perfect (Second Opportunities #2) by Judith McNaught

[Sorry Lothaire, Gray Rouillard, Justin Kinmurrie, Ian Mackenzie, Marc Hunter. I heart you people too.]

But Zack Benedict *sigh* he was beyond perfect!

Since it's so hard to choose I'm going with a Kristen Ashley hero too. Chace Keaton from Breathe

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Zsadist ( J.R Ward) from 'lover awakened'....swoon ....

message 16: by Fil (new)

Fil (magab64) | 85 comments Tate - Sweet Dreams!

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 511 comments I am going to have to go with Acheron.
Acheron (Dark-Hunter, #12) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

message 18: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 395 comments I really don't even have to think about it, Curran :)

This was so so hard!!!! I'm going to have to go with Roarke...who's better than him?

But honorable mention to all Kristen Ashley heroes, as well as Braden from On Dublin Street, Rule Turner from the Lupi series, and Gaetan from Dancing on Coals.

That's a good one. I didn't read this one in 2012 though.

Desiree M ~*~*~ LiveReadCollect (livereadcollect) | 109 comments This is such a hard one. I'm going to have to think about this one. I read quite a few heroes that I loved.

Too bad and I can't pick one and his nine other equally amazing friends. ;)

message 27: by Kryptonite (last edited Jan 06, 2013 05:52PM) (new)

Kryptonite (sg34) | 406 comments Okay for these are what I'm contemplating:

Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #12) by Kresley Cole Darker After Midnight (Midnight Breed, #10) by Lara Adrian The Darkest Seduction (Lords of the Underworld, #9) by Gena Showalter The Man She Loves To Hate (Presents Extra) by Kelly Hunter Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Warprize (Chronicles of the Warlands, #1) by Elizabeth Vaughan Compromising Positions (Hadley, #2) by Beverly Bird A Royal World Apart by Maisey Yates Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #1) by Maya Banks Forever and a Day (Lucky Harbor, #6) by Jill Shalvis A Lot Like Love (FBI / US Attorney, #2) by Julie James About That Night (FBI / US Attorney, #3) by Julie James Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3) by Pamela Clare Rogue Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #4) by Larissa Ione Shadow's Claim (The Dacians Realm of Blood and Mist, #1) by Kresley Cole

I think I'm going to pick Marc Hunter from Unlawful Contact

message 28: by Desiree M ~*~*~ (new)

Desiree M ~*~*~ LiveReadCollect (livereadcollect) | 109 comments I'm going to steal borrow Kryptonite's idea. Sometimes it's easier to see the books/heroes I'm contemplating in front of me instead of switching through pages.

Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #12) by Kresley Cole (Lothaire); Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3) by Pamela Clare (Marc Hunter); Hunting Ground (Alpha & Omega, #2) by Patricia Briggs (Charles); Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh (Vaughn); Breaking Point (I-Team, #5) by Pamela Clare (Zach); Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10) by Nalini Singh (Hawke); Lord of the Abyss (Royal House of Shadows, #4) by Nalini Singh (Micah); Ride the Fire (Blakewell/Kenleigh Family Trilogy, #3) by Pamela Clare (Nicholas); Notorious Pleasures (Maiden Lane, #2) by Elizabeth Hoyt (Griffin); Shadow's Claim (The Dacians Realm of Blood and Mist, #1) by Kresley Cole (Trehan); Scandalous Desires (Maiden Lane, #3) by Elizabeth Hoyt (Mickey)

And the Winner is.....

Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #12) by Kresley Cole

Honestly when I first saw the thread for Hero of 2012 my first thought was Lothaire but I had to go and look at my other books to see if any of the others I read could surpass that initial thought. And even though they came close I couldn't pick them over Lothaire.

Basically I've thought about him all through 2012. I anxiously awaited the release, I have it both in hardback and paperback, I read the book twice last year, just could not get enough of Lothaire, my favorite part of Shadow's Claim were the Lothaire bits, and I am thinking about getting the audiobook and listening to the book again. So I think it's safe to say Lothaire is my Hero of the Year.

Wow, you both read some good books last year, Desiree and Kryptonite. I can see why it's hard to choose.
