That would be fantastic, the more time the better!About a month ago on Twitter they had a ToB tweet about the tournament starting in x number of weeks (14?), so I asked them when the list would be released. They replied back "Date not fixed, but early January probably." But it would be nice to have an early Christmas present. Heck, I'd even take a "long list" at this point! ;-)
i am reading that the same way, michelle! it will be wonderful to have the list of books before the end of the year. YAY!!anyone going to submit an entry to be a guest judge??? :)
I would love to have the long list back! The best book award (other than the ToB) is the Man-Booker. 5 friends and I divided up the long list each of us reading 3 so several books were read more than once. I was able to read 5 before the short list was announced. Our short list predictions were not too far off and we all read the remaining books before the winner was announced. It was a lot of reading, but we were able to agree that the winner was Bring Up the Bodies. I really can't wait for the books to be announced. My only issue is that I figured the list would not be out until mid-January and I am committed to a big book weekend the third weekend. I still have 4 books to read between now and then!
Hmmmm, I'm slightly skeptical about this announcement, because we've heard this before, haven't we? (Like, every year for the past 4 years?) In the ToB world, early January seems to actually mean late January or early February. Still, this would be fantastic news and I'm going to cross my fingers very hard in hopes that it comes true. It's very exciting to hear the beginning rumblings of the ToB chatter this year!
This would be sweet. I could buy more of the books with my holiday present gift cards, since they won't all be used up yet.

All entries are due by midnight EST on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. We’ll notify the winner the following week when we release the book finalists for 2013. Good luck!
If I am reading this correctly, we may have the list of books before Christmas?????!!!!!
