Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments It's officially March. Time to drop by here and let us know what are you currently reading.

I think I'll start off with

Suzanne Brockmann's Forever Blue (seems like a quick read),

Linnea Sinclair's Gabriel's Ghost (she was so kind to share free PFF copies of it for those who needs a sci-fi romance for the PNR challenge),

and Nora Roberts' The Pagan Stone (its not in any of my challenge lists but I need to know how this trilogy ends..LOL..) in audiobook format.

Happy March reading everyone!

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) I need to finish Aunt Dimity Slays the Dragon before it's due back at the library tomorrow. (New books only check out for 7 days).

I have to finish Joy in the Morning by P.G. Wodehouse. It's a Jeeves and Wooster story. I have only a couple chapters left. It's due back at the library by March 9th and I can't renew again so need to finish it.

Started Lonesome Cowboy by Debbie Macomber for our Feb challenge but fell asleep before midnight so didn't finish it in time to count it for Feb. But since I have 6 other books in this Heart of Texas series on my March challenge list and the last 1 on my read the month for March challenge list... I do need to finish it.

Oh, and I can't forget I need to continue reading Pride & Prejudice for our Read-a-long.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Briansgirl,

Your reading plate sounds full, so you push Pride and Prejudice in the back burner for now. I'm sort of going slow with it myself.

message 4: by Nikki ♥ (new)

Nikki ♥ I'm reading Northern Lights by Nora Roberts. It's not on any of my challange lists, but I wanted to read it before the movie comes out, at the end of this month.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Shoot! I have to break my Evangeline Anderson/ m/m romance jag to try and read this LIB. by Bentley Little. It's zombie horror and due back in a few days.

Otherwise, I started Dark Elves: Taken by Jet Mykles this AM and I am slowly getting through it. Great story (my goodness I love how Jet writes). It just not as quiet as I like it around here today =)

message 6: by Jess (new)

Jess I will be starting promises in death by JD Robb.. as soon as I finish my school work. Ugh, and that can take forever!!!

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments I am not sure but I think I read an IN DEATH novella by J D Robb. It was good =). God help me if I can resist starting another series, lol.

I had read ahead for a bit, then stopped to try to finish up Feb reading lists. Came up short anyway, lol, since I couldn't finish last night as I fell asleep. So now switched to the library books I need to finish. Then I'll go back and finish that first book in the series so I can continue. Then I can look to add something else in. lol

Jess Kenjii wrote: "I am not sure but I think I read an IN DEATH novella by J D Robb. It was good =). God help me if I can resist starting another series, lol. "

lol and there are so many of them. I think this newest one is the 26th or 27th!!

message 10: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) I'm reading Sexy Beast for this month's challenge and then I think I'm going to start The Smoke Thief. It's been on my shelf forever and is part of the PNR challenge for March.

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) I started Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon this morning and just finished it.
It is so refreshing to read a romance where you actually get to see the process of them falling in love, and you can actually see why they love each other and it's convincing... instead of "Oh, I'm attracted to you, so we must be in love" or "Oh, you're my soul mate so let's hop in bed."
I'm also a few chapters into The Outlaw Demon Wails.

message 12: by ♥Tricia♥ (new)

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 407 comments Nichole that series is AWESOME!!

You must read them in order, dont let anyone tell you otherwise! :D

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) I'm a stickler for reading series in order, so don't worry. :) Though I plan to skip the novellas/anthologies for the most part.
I have Night Embrace right now, but the library didn't have Night Pleasures when I picked the others up. They have it on hold for me now so I can pick it up tomorrow, otherwise I would probably be reading that right now. But Night Embrace sits waiting on my shelf, cause I can't skip ahead...
Good thing I have plenty of other books to read. :)

message 14: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Finished Brockmann's Forever Blue. Yey, one book down for March!! Another solid contemporary romance with hot sexy Seals from Brockmann's Tall, Dark and Dangerous series.

Instead of The Pagan Stone, I started with Charlaine Harris' Club Dead for my audiobook, which I listened to everytime I'm in the car.

message 15: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments Just started Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan. It's one of my March challenge books. I have quickly become engrossed in the book. It's the first in a trilogy so I'm relieved I'm liking it. Great writing. Gotta go read!!!

message 16: by Melissa (last edited Mar 02, 2009 05:08PM) (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments I finished Warprize a few hours ago and have already started on Warsworn, the second in the series. I could not but the book down! I was hiding away before dinner so no would bug me so I could finish! I've a new favorite author! It has the same feel as the Tairen Soul books by C.L. Wilson, but without the magic and soulmate thing. It's set in the time of castles and kings in a generic location. SO glad I picked this trilogy as part of my challenges otherwise I'd be behind in reading because I am definitely reading these back to back. The books were recommended here on goodreads and I gotta say, it was worth me hunting down a used copy of book one!

message 17: by Malena (new)

Malena (badgalmalmal) Melissa: Sounds fantastic. Another book to add to my tbr list! Since you like books in the time of castles and kings I think you will LOVE Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I finished it a couple of weeks ago and couldn't put it down.

Right now i'm reading Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. It's really good so far. I'm loving the werewolve perspective.

message 18: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments Thanks for the book suggestion Mel (and for the friend invite). My library actually has it and I put in my request!

message 19: by Jess (new)

Jess I just finished Caressed by Ice.. oo fantastic! Too bad now I like a new series and don't have the money to buy all the books..

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Jess wrote: "I just finished Caressed by Ice.. oo fantastic! Too bad now I like a new series and don't have the money to buy all the books.. "

Does your library have them? I love adding books to my collection but can really only afford to do that if they are older and I can find them used, so for newer books I have to go to my local library.

message 21: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (last edited Mar 03, 2009 12:27PM) (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Briansgirl,

All the Psy/Changeling books of Nalini Singh that I read, I got from the library. They should be available in yours, I hope.

I do like them so much, that I'm considering when I have a little cash in buying the collection. Maybe check them out in ebay or something.

When I needed to find a book of hers for the Feb challenge of a NZ author... I discovered my library only had 3 of hers and I think all were regular romances.

message 23: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (shigyrl30) I am currently reading The Hiding Place by Karen Harper, Once A Cowboy by Linda Warren, and Tempt Me With Darkness by Shayla Black.

message 24: by Jess (new)

Jess its bad because I read the second and third bk and then bought the other on my kindle. That kindle makes it so easy to read the next in the series, - always forget I'm spending money!!

message 25: by Jodz (new)

Jodz (jodz87) Alex Duval's Vampire beach series.

I have finished Bloodlust and Initiation and just started number 3 Ritual

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 367 comments I am almost finished with the Playing Easy to Get anthology, mostly for the Kresley Cole story. I want to start the Immortals After Dark series, so I figured I'd go from the beginning.

I hadn't read any of the authors before. So far I like Sherrilyn Kenyon and Kresley Cole, but I didn't care for Jaid Black. I hate it when authors write narration in archaic terms--all "'Tis only natural he walked across the floor" sort of stuff feels like lazy scene building to me.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments I am reading Lover Eternal by J R Ward for my BOM selection. I am only on chapter 13 but I do like that this is Rhage's book. I don't mind the nicknames.

I posed the question of who could Rhage be compared to as far as looks. When he is described I keep picturing Nick Carter with long hair. But then remember Rhage doesn't have long hair. But Rhage is HOT and I don't find Nick Carter drool-worthy. It's just the blond hair blue eyes thing. So. I need a been mental pic. I have yet to be able to play the link Auntee (I believe it was her, lol) sent me about the perfect men to play the BDB.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Kenjii,

Check out youtube and ran a search for BlackDaggerBrotherhood. You'll be surprised at some of the choices by people on who do they think looks like the brothers.

message 29: by Amy (new)

Amy | 60 comments I can't resist reading 'Dragon Fly in Amber' that sits on my bedside table begging me.. :) So I just aborted all other plan and pick it up. I didn't plan to continue the Outlander series so soon since it's a huge book and very taxing on my emotion.. But... Jamie is just too darn good to resist. :)

message 30: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessim) | 131 comments I'm reading Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking. I've heard a lot of good things about the series, so I decided to give it a try. So far it is okay.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Yz, Auntee helped me out =) But I will try youtube too!

message 32: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) I'm reading The Smoke Thief. It's a historical paranormal set in England in the 1700's. I'm really enjoying it. I wasn't sure if I'd like dragon shifters since they don't strike me as very sexy. The way the author handles the shift is very interesting and they are certainly beautiful creatures as she describes them. Strong woman heroine which I always like, and the hero is very alpha without being overbearing. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Hey I found a BDB montage video on youtube. That about did for my eye candy =)

message 34: by Nikki ♥ (new)

Nikki ♥ I just started Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband.

Lori, The Smoke Thief sounds good. I may have to check that out.

message 35: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I seem to be in a crying binge today...LOL

I just finished Frisco's Kid by Suzanne Brockmann, and this story about an injured navy SEAL just made me cry. Then I picked up An Enchanted season and read Nalini Singh's entry Beat of Temptation (Tamsyn and Nate's story) and I was back into weeping.

Okay, need to read something else that will not make me cry, or I'm going to end up with a major headache..LOL..

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments I can't read for hours like I want to. I have a headache on/off. But I am sticking with Lover Eternal as it has my attn. Once I get Desire Unchained by Larissa Ione I will tear into that as well. So far though I am really liking Lover Eternal. Do the brother's get more tormented as the series goes on?

Awww sorry Yz. Feel better =D

message 37: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments LOL..must be that time of the month..LOL..I read another novella from the same anthology and I started crying again.

Lover Eternal, I think, of all the BDB books is the most romanced-focus, if I should say so myself. And yes, the other brothers have their own tormented stories to tell.

I agree that it is the most romance centered one.. but don't you think that Lover Unbound was the sexiest?? lol..

LOL...like the bathroom scene?..the bedbath scene?...the penthouse scene?.. the "walk in my mind" scene?...even the one involving a phone..did I miss anything else?...*fans herself*

V is just one hot, sexy, kinky vampire..LOL..let us just leave it at that..LOL

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) lol, you guys.
I totally agree about both - Lover Eternal is definitely the most romantic, and Lover Unbound is pretty sexy... I can't get enough V.

message 42: by Nikki ♥ (new)

Nikki ♥ Oh I love V, yum.
Kenjii, you are in for a real treat with that series. For me each book got better.

So far this series has 27 or 28 books in it so yeah skip it if you can. Though I will tell it's fabulous!

message 44: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ | 3901 comments I've been trying to get to Desire Unchained but I sell books online and have to read them before I can ship and I keep selling. It's a catch 22 cause I need to sell them (need the money to buy more books) but I NEED to read Desire Unchained too. DAMN!

Next up is Mortal Temptations. I really liked her Dragon books so I've got high hopes for this one.

ooo the bathroom scene.. legendary.. jeezeeeee

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Seems like giving Dark Lover a another chance was the right choice. I enjoy to "ooh ahh ooo" over the tasty temptation that are the BDB. It is great b/c the painter doing work on my house asked me what am I reading and I am all like "hmm...lover eternal, it's about vampires. It's romance!" he's all "it's like that huh?" LOL. So dunno if that's a good or bad reply but I am more than happy to let other people in on my secret(my book cover hide the covers I am readings BOOKMATES).

message 47: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Finished Smoke Thief. I really liked it and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. It started to get a little "wordy" for me towards the end but I'm not a big fan of lots of description and flowery prose.

Started Soul Mates Bound by Blood and could hardly put it down last night. I immediately fell in love with the characters in this book and while some of the dialogue written for the 400+ year old vampire is a little stilted and stiff, I'm so caught up in the story that I just don't care. This is gay erotica and not everyone's cup of tea but I'm really enjoying it and looking forward to the rest of the series.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) I've recently (in the last week) finished Kiss Kiss Bang! Bang! (James Bond movie companion book), Aunt Dimity Slays the Dragon, Joy in the Morning (a P.G. Wodehouse Jeeves and Wooster story), and Lonesome Cowboy (Heart of Texas series, book 1 of 8).

I'm now getting ready to start the second book in the series, Texas Two-Step. I also picked up the next Jeremy Clarkson book, Born to be Riled.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Ok, I am hooked on Lover Eternal by J R Ward. I may start a couple other books today just to attempt to get into my other challenge books. But I just love Rhage's story.

message 50: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 367 comments I'm with you on Lover Eternal, Knejii. I like Rhage, and I felt sorry for him when he talks about how he hates having his urges and monster inside. Poor guy!
