Thomas L. Friedman's phenomenal number-one bestseller The World is Flat has helped millions of readers to see the world in a new way. In his brilliant, essential new book, Friedman takes a fresh and provocative look at two of the biggest challenges we face today: America's surprising loss of focus and national purpose since 9/11; and the global environmental crisis, which is affecting everything from food to fuel to forests. In this groundbreaking account of where we stand now, he shows us how the solutions to these two big problems are linked--how we can restore the world and revive America at the same time.

Steph (stephthegardenfiend) | 2 comments I have a question for all who read or are reading. One thing I always ask is what action or actions I as an individual can do to have max impact on moving to green. Some thigs are more "feel good" than serious impact. Kind of like putting a few pennys or dimes in the donation slot at the fast food window and feeling I'm part of the cure for cancer. Your thoughts.

Grégoire | 18 comments I guess the most important thing is about consciousness. If you're conscious about your impact, about what your way of life means for the environment, you'll naturally find the best things to do. Or things to stop, like going to fastfoods :)
