Sydney (twilighter4life) | 14 comments I think for a guy to read the whole series is a big turn on for girls becuz not only will they know we dream of edward they could be our edward so any guy who has read the series and liked it is a big turn on for me

message 2: by Paige (new)

Paige | 90 comments i think it makes them seem more sensitive

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

lol, I'm not a big fan of Twi-Guys. Then again, every other guy at my school has read it... At first I loved them, though.

message 4: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday dear Lulu! Happy Birthday to me!

message 5: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments I have three guy friends who have read Twilight and the other books. And lol I don't think it makes them any more or less cool. But I am *proud* of them for going and reading books that are considered total girl books, and being able to hate them or enjoy them :]
I think it's lame though when guys like won't go anywhere near the books lol

message 6: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (abmort93) It's very dissappointing when they don't read them. I think they lose some of their "manliness."

message 7: by Paige (new)

Paige | 90 comments its cool when they do read them (but i still havent met any) but i think they're just acting immature when they wont go near them (like mikayla said)

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I totally agree. Maybe they will start to act more Cullen-ish (wishful thinking)

message 9: by Paige (new)

Paige | 90 comments i just hope they dont turn into stalkers like edward ,thinking that all girls want a stalker bf...

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

ya, that would be bad

message 11: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments lol yeah, I'm ok with it if guys don't feel a need to ACT like Edward *shudders*

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm sorry but that would be just plain creepy. Watching me sleep. Wanting to kill me. Lead me to a mysterious meadow to show me that you could kill me when everyone thinks I'm in Washington.

message 13: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments LOL :D

message 14: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments haha
well I certainly hope not...

Edward behavior isn't too applicable to real life when you have OTHER guys doing it

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

True. Edward is the only one that could pull it off.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

If you really think about it, the whole Edward "stalking" thing, is just twilight's version of the "boy climbing through the window" story line. In old movies the boy would scale the side of the house, climb through the window just to get a goodnight kiss. The only difference is that Edward doesnt need to say goodnight, he doesnt sleep. I thought it was almost poetic. You know what they say, "You know your in love when you can that special someone sleep and still feel content"

message 17: by Paige (new)

Paige | 90 comments yeah but edward does it more stalkery tho

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

ya but i guess if you think of it like climbing a tower window it is sweet but also stalker-ish.

message 19: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments "In old movies the boy would scale the side of the house, climb through the window just to get a goodnight kiss. The only difference is that Edward doesnt need to say goodnight, he doesnt sleep."

Ummmm yeahhh...
The difference is:
1. Edward isn't human so he can go in there without her noticing
2. At first he DOES just sneak in, and she doesn't know (that ISN'T stalkerish at all??)
3. Let's just repeat what happens, that Edward wants to SEE her, so he climbs through her window and watches her sleep, then leaves quickly before she can notice. that's the story. Is that not abnormal?

message 20: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments that is, in Twilight of course...
later on she knows he comes and all, but still...

message 21: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments Yeah, that's weird, isn't it?
in the movie Edward says "I like watching you sleep"
Bella just asks "how long have you been doing that?"
"oh, a couple of months" she just shrugs.
That, let me tell you, is NOT normal
lol

message 22: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments OK...question-If Edward Cullen, sexy vampire in all his sparkly glory, admitted that he was in ur bedroom at night would u:

a)freak out, tell him he's a stalker, but agree to stay around if he stops
b)freak out but don't mind if he continues cuz he likes you enough to watch u sleep
c)just be plain creeped out, no matter who it was, and never come around him again????

Think carefully...It's EDWARD CULLEN ppl!!!!! (or if u don't like him, substitute his name for a VAMPIRE u like)

message 23: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments probably A.

message 24: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments well, it's B for me. Cuz
1)I reallllyyyy like Edward
2)it's not like i sleep much anyway
3)if he was with me i might finally b able to get more than 1 hr sleep everyday

message 25: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments anyone choose C ????? see, it's not THAT creepy, as long as it's a gorgeous vampire stalking you
Human...well, that's VERY creepy.my best friend had a stalker once and we really freaked out over it.not the nicest thing to have......

message 26: by none (new)

none (asdlfkgjh)
Stalkers are creepy, even Edward, but i'd still say b.

Katie yep...

message 31: by Mikayla (new)

Mikayla | 76 comments A couple of weeks ago I was on the phone with one of my guy friends and he's read all the books and seen the movie, and it was awesome, we were just like talking on the phone about Twilight for like an hour :D

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

I have some guy friends that read Twilight and they said its not bad. In other words its good.

message 33: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments Hey, a 'not bad' from a guy is like an 'awesome' from a girl. :)
Go Twilight!

message 34: by [deleted user] (last edited May 26, 2009 08:43PM) (new)

I havent met a guy yet that has read twilight and admitted to liking it, but I agree with the comments that say it's a turn on. Any guy who can read a romantic novel from the girls perspective, is okay in my book. ;)

message 35: by Katy (new)

Katy (ktdone) This was on NPR yesterday:
Real Men Read (And Love) 'Twilight' — Really!

I forwarded to my boyfriend, I've been trying to get him to read it, but after a month he's only read like 2 chapters. Slowly but surely.

message 36: by Marc (new)

Marc | 40 comments Just joined the group and this little topic caught my eye.

I am a guy, read all the books including the partial draft of Midnight sun. I really enjoyed the series, more so than I thought I would. My soon to be wife suggested I read it. I was skeptical at first, but pleasantly suprised.

Alice is awesome by the way, absolutely my favorite character.

message 37: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments power to you Marc.Yay! Slowly but surely Twilight shall rule the world!!!!!-insert evil laughter here-

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

And people thought it was a fad, look at us now! Twilight fans have been around since 2004! 3000 members in this group now. Just on GoodReads. *Evil Laughter*...

*Creepy Voice* its the venom...

message 39: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments Must be...have u guys voted yet?

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

I have voted, I had a little trouble when it came to "best breakthrough performance by a male" They have both Rob and Taylor nominated against eachother. I love Taylor, but I figured Rob would have more of a chance. Not many people are team Taylor, so it was a more useful vote. I just hope Twilight can stand up against Slumdog. That movie gets all the awards.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

What's cool?

message 42: by Marc (last edited May 29, 2009 04:53AM) (new)

Marc | 40 comments I bought my mother the Official I love Alice Cullen T-shirt from twilightteez.com for her Birthday. Don't think I've ever seen her get that excited about a gift before. As soon as I saw it, there was no question, my credit card was already getting pulled out and the page was barely loaded.

message 43: by none (new)

message 44: by .april.rainbow, (new)

.april.rainbow, (aprilrainbow) | 8 comments lol. I have two guy friends, one is a hater and one a lover. Well, the hater thinks guys who read Twilight are gays. Well, I disagree. lol. =)

message 45: by Evangeline (new)

Evangeline Wang (EvangelineWang) Actually, i think Twilight saga is a saga for girls.:)

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Evangeline wrote: "Actually, i think Twilight saga is a saga for girls.:)"

Josie wrote: "BOO!!!!"

Evangeline, I understand where your coming from, being that the saga does have a female main character, but nothing is just for girls or guys. Unless every twilight book is made with a poison sealent that hurts anyone with a Y chromosone. The book is for everyone. :)

message 47: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments BD has a Jake section so it can't be just for girls :)

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Exactly :)

message 49: by Katie (new)

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

It may never come out...ever...she even posted the excerpt on her website cause that may be all your gonna get...thats a bad idea...yeah......
