What are your next five reads?
I normally don't plan that far ahead, but I got a bunch of books for Christmas, as usual, I'm excited about this challenge and Jenny's, and I want to read something funny after The Kitchen House, so I'm planning out the next couple books I'll be reading.

For the Around the World Challenge: The White Masai for Kenya and God Save the Queen for the UK
For Read Across Canada:Long Hot Summoning, Ontario
For the Around the US Challenge: Night Shift, Washington State

Janice (jamasc) I use an app called Evernote to plan what I want to read each month. Here's January...

Audiobook:
The Lock Artist
The Song of Achilles (ylto Feb group)
Skinwalker

Book:
Middlesex (the syndicate)
The Red Tent (ylto Jan challenge)
Any Known Blood: A Novel (abc, atw Canada, cr Alberta)

Ebook:
The Bronze Horseman (atw Russia, abc)
The Rent Collector(atw Cambodia)

I have my own coding system that tells me what challenge or purpose I'm reading the book for. If there's no coding behind it, the read is just for fun!

As you can see by the "cr Alberta", I have one book scheduledi January for this challenge.

message 3: by Autumn (new)

Autumn I just started The Perks of Being a Wallflower yesterday, so that and The Big Over Easy will be my weekend reads.

My current work-related read is Hope-Filled Engagement.

For the remainder of the month, my Canada-challenge read (Ontario) 1982 and also The Ascent of Rum Doodle.

So many comedies this month! It's quite nice, actually. Oh, you know what? I think The Bishop's Man is also on my shelf right now from the library. Definitely not a comedy!

Kelly | 12 comments I'm behind on my reading but next up are:
my December read (a little late) The Master and Margarita
my January read The Double Bind
our January book club pick A Dirty Job

Other than those required books, I haven't decided but I think I'd like to start off the year with a fantasy series, maybe The Stand (a re-read, but a great one)!

Connie, yes, you may read The Kitchen House for Read Across Canada. Kathleen Grissom spent enough time there to actually remember it and be influenced by it.

Ava Catherine Fabulous! Her book has been on my tbr for the longest time!

message 8: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) This group is structured along the lines of Around the World in 52 books. There are no rules unless you impose them on yourself.

Canada, for Saskatchewan
Sacred Hearts, for the Around the World Challenge for Italy
God Save the Queen, my British choice for the Around the World Challenge, which I said I'd get to at the beginning of the month but haven't yet
Queen Defiant: A Novel of Eleanor of Aquitaine for the Around the World Challenge for France
