~*Trema*~ (tremarenae) | 2 comments Fiction? Hmm..
I'd have to say historical fiction is my favorite, but historical fiction with a paranormal twist is nice too.
Secondly, would be mystery.

Katie (specialsnowflake) | 1 comments historical fiction is great and I also like fantasy - not adult fantasy though.

message 3: by Angela (new)

Angela | 2 comments I love historical fiction, especially with a time travel aspect to it. And just lately I've been reading some crime novels and surprised myself by really enjoying them. (I'm reading one at the moment!)

message 4: by Sandra "Jeanz" (new)

Sandra "Jeanz" I love the dystopian/post apocalyptic genre. However this year I am also trying out the Zombie Genre for a Reading Challenge on my blog.
It's difficult to say exactly what I like as if a blurb catches me I will read outside my so called "favourite genres" and occasionally I get a book that is totally within my "favourite genres" that just doesn't appeal or work for me.
(I hope this helps a little) I do have a review policy on my blog too.
I mean prior to the New Year I would have said I didn't like Time Travel very much(with the exception on Stitch by Samantha Durante) then I came across Tempest by Julie Cross and am at the moment reading Vortex by Julie Cross.
So it kind of depends on the individual book.

message 5: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (jennmcd) I'm pretty open to just about any type of book, I'll try anything that sounds interesting. But I would have to say my guilty pleasures are Historical fiction (especially British monarchy), paranormal, steampunk, ya fantasy and paranormal & ya dystopian.

message 6: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (jennmcd) Sorry, I should have included the fact that I have 3 children (2 are teens) & I screen all their books by reading them first. The "guilty pleasures" was in reference to the YA books I read before I okay them for my kids. (They don't need to know I enjoy them and look forward to their newest interests). ;0)

I love Historical Fiction and right now I'm reading a lot of YA dystopian. However I also enjoy the YA fantasy and I have been getting into some YA Romance. I would like to try some Time Travel.

That's something my parents should have done. Going back and looking at some of the books I was reading at a young age, I should have not been reading them. For example I was reading Stephen King, Danielle Steel, and John Grisham in the 5th grade.

message 9: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I do the same thing Jenn does... I screen the YA books my daughters read. I must admit, I actually usually read them first and them recommend them without their insistence! I also love anything paranormal, vampires, witches, fairytales, demons, angels. Oh just give me fiction! LOL

Kimberly (uconnhusky13) | 12 comments I am a book addict, any kind of fiction and targeting any age group. Lately I've been bouncing between paranormal and black ops/suspense. Always looking for new authors

message 11: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) I like actiony books with a minimal amount of romance. Two of my favorite series are the Ryria Revelations and The Legend of Eli Monpress

Crystal Tadlock (crystaldspence) | 7 comments I am interested in most all genres except for erotica... I have a Nook so would love if more people started posting PDF's and EPUB's or anything that would work on my nook! TY!

message 13: by Shirley (new)

Shirley (5hip) | 1 comments Well, i think than all... But because my age I prefer young-adult and paranormal...

message 14: by Maryalice (new)

Maryalice | 8 comments It is easier to tell you what i don't like. I don't like terror or horror. Also I don't like erotica, thats why this 59 year old reads YA. The genre pretty much depends on my mood, how I'm feeling and what the last thing I read was.

message 15: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (uconnhusky13) | 12 comments I will read just about anything except non fiction and historical romance. I stay away from short stories, but have been trying to check these out as well

Short stories are good for breaks at work and clearing your brain after a good novel so you can have a clean open mind for the next book

message 17: by William (new)

William (kyrathaba) fantasy fiction and post-apocalyptic are my favorites

message 18: by William (new)
