When I find something interesting I upload them here. You'll also find an early Mo short fiction. Please feel free to download (or upload). Thanks to the previous contributors. The David F. Wallace folder is packed with goodies.
Shel... you can use this to store some of your short stories for the group read. I, or you, can create a Group Read Short Story folder. Just let me know...

Brian, I'll create it. And if for some reason you run out of MBs, we can use my MobileMe.
I will have to scan and send you my DFW story from the Mar 9 New Yorker if you don't have it already.

I found this link through a tweet from Neil Gaiman. It's an article about a very disturbing new law that has passed that will affect the future (and past) of children's literature in astounding ways. It is very upsetting.

Please do! I went on something of a cathartic binge and loaded myself up, and the shared folder, on DFW journalism. Any additions would be welcome. RIP DFW.

I have a neat link! Apparently there are author talks held by google on youtube.
Check it out here:

Also, I learned of this sight from either Michael or Hugh and if you haven't seen it it is worth your time:

The World Digital Library was recently launched. The collection is smallish but is growing and has some terrific stuff to check out.

So there is this Goodreads group called "Hard Core Chicks"

I was surprised to find something entirely different when conducting a google search for Hard Core Chicks. Time to turn the Moderate safe search filter back on.

Oh. my. The topic list is just... wow.
Apparently Hard Core Chicks like Hello Kitty. And Twilight. And though the group is supposed to be for chicks only, here is a guy posting about what guys are "really like" in comparison to him. Though I had tremendous trouble following this, I think he's trying to make himself... appealing to the opposite sex (I would have run for the hills as a teenager if this had come at me):
To which the response is, and I kid you not (from a girl with a Hello Kitty for her profile photo):
"whoa i want a guy like that..."
Not that I'm making fun, you understand. I mean, these people are working out some serious issues.
That have nothing to do with reading books.

Haha maybe I should pop in and give them some therapy. Or just stir them up.

over the past 2 years i've read many ryu murakami books about crazy fucked up people and i read j.c. oates' book, zombie, about a serial killer and none of them captured the dialog of a twisted head as convincing as the quote above.
and i love that girls reply... she should be careful.

maybe I shouldn't mess with crazy people. ha.
I dunno, I read it as a kid trying to say he's seen some crazy shit and that he wouldn't pull that with a girl, so everyone in the group should want to go out with him. The "But look! I'm a *nice* guy!" thing... I've heard things like that before from guys, in different, less assault-oriented ways ("I'll give you everything you want, not like that guy who won't take you shopping." "I'll share all the chores with you, not like that guy who sits around watching sports all day." "I'll love you forever, not like that guy who left you."). That was long ago and far away, though.
I wasn't thinking he was all that menacing. But I see where you're coming from. (And I'm not always the best judge of character, too trusting I think is the term used most often.)

Yeah, I checked out that thread. I hope they don't end up running N.O.W. as adults. Otherwise, they won't be able to get anything done. The whole organization would be run badly enough that meetings after meetings would be canceled because they would be too busy staying homes, cleaning the toilets at the same time their boyfriends or husbands are boinking them in the asses. : P

This kidlink group also has a great thread on "how tall are you?" We should do that. I am like 6'2", and pretty much taller than all the other kids in my class. I am embarrassed and ashamed of my body type.
They also discuss _Wittgenstein's Mistress_ and agree that it (and I quote) sucks majorly. I am going to start using that phrase. Just saying.

Ha! Really. How tall are you. How does that fit into hard core-ness?
I'm not saying how short I am. Let's just say I'd make a good elbow rest for Michael.

Do you think I can win these girls over if I am that vampire actor guy Taylor?
Dear young ladies:
Patrick Kilgallon is my pen name. Please order my book and do a review on it. If you are over eighteen send me pictures of you reading my book so I can see if you are good looking enough for me to hit on. The first 500 girls to order will get to take turns doing duets with me.
Peace,
Taylor

GUYS! I finished my annual Christmas/Winter music mix last night. I did not burn a gazillion phyiscal CDs and drop them in the mail this year because to be honest the list of people I have to mail them to has grown beyond my budget. So this year, I simply created the mix on Spotify! You can download Spotify to your computer for free and listen to the mix anytime. Plus, I also recreated all my past mixes going back to 2006 for your enjoyment. Merry Christmas! Happy Winter! Much love to you! xoxo

I've added this folder because sometimes we want to share links to useful information, or links. For example, a lot of us found out about goodreads in the myspace group. :)
so stuff about book binding or the ins and out of book marketing, self-publishing, finding an agent. stuff like that here okay?
