2013 Classic Challenge discussion

This is the first official Classic book of 2013. If you're reading another that's fine too.

I have finished the Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. There are the wonderful descriptions such as the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain and an account of a bullfight. The plot meanders just as the lives of the characters meander. The characters are all late 20s and early 30s post WWI generation.

Some readers may be offended by the casual Anti Semitism in the story. The one Jewish character seems to have remarkable forbearance through all of the off hand insults throughout the story. He does until the end.
