How to Play

Object of the Game: Be the first team to get from START to THE END

How to move around the board
❉ Bookmark this exact website link @ Random.org

❉ Use the board movement key detailed below and shown on the Fantasyland Reference Sheet to guide your team's movements.

❉ To begin the game, click AGAIN! on the Random.org playing card shuffler to draw your first card. Draw until you get a card that allows your team to move ahead.

❉ Captains, notify your team which spot your team landed on. When you land on a colored space, each team member must choose a book with a color coordinated cover for that space (IE: Land on a RED space, read a book with a predominantly red cover)

» If your team draws one of the six fantasy forward cards, your team jumps ahead to that spot on the board and each team member may read any book of their choice that week.

» If your team lands on one of the two shortcuts, your team jumps ahead. Members are to choose a book featuring a cover color that corresponds to the spot where you landed after jumping forward. For instance, if your team lands on the the first, long shortcut (purple space #11), you will be reading a book with a blue cover since that is where your team will land (blue space #84).

❉ All team members must read, rate and review their book BEFORE moving on; post your book choice, rating and review on your team thread. For this reason, it's important that each team member be able to read, rate and review a book a week. If a team is unable to draw because of a missing team member's post, the entire team will have to wait a week before drawing again.

❉ Captains, be sure to post your team board movements (color of the spot and spot #) each week, along with the book choices, read dates and a link to each team member's review on your team thread. Please share your team's game board progress here as well as your team's thread.

2 = Blue
3 = Green

Fantasy Fowards
(These are ONE-TIME-ONLY fantasy forwards. If you draw one of these cards a second time, please disregard it and draw again. Game progresses forward only - no backward movements. So, if you drew the 10 of HEARTS and moved to the HEART space, then later in the game you draw the RED JOKER disregard it because the BAT is behind you, not ahead of you.)

JACK of DIAMONDS = Bloody Bite
10 of HEARTS = Heart
BLACK JOKER = Skull
RED JOKER = Bat

Fantasy Shortcuts
LARGE Arrow = "Tame a Dragon" and fly ahead; move from the yellow star (purple #11 space) to the yellow star (blue #84 space)

SMALL Arrow = "Slip thru Portal" and jump ahead; move from the purple star (yellow #49 space) to the purple star (red #58 space)

How to win
Hasbro's Candyland rules state: If you're the first person to reach the last orange space or move beyond the last orange space, you've reached the Candy Castle and won the game.

In keeping with those rules, play continues until a team reaches the last orange space (#138) or until a team draws a color card that directs them past the last orange space (IE: a team draws a red, blue or green card). Books must be chosen based on the color card drawn for that week. All members of the team must have read, rated and reviewed their book by week's end to win.

In the event of a tie (more than one team reaches the end that week), the first team to read, rate and review the books for the final card, and post it on the * Fantasyland | Game Board & Team Movements - thread will be the winner.
