Valentine's Week Challenge 2013

I will not take part to this challenge because I have already too much books to read and, above all, I don't like love stories.
But! I want to nominate some books if possibile though I will not do the challenge.
1) the collection of love stories by Ivan Bunin
2) Beside the Sea (though it is love of a mother for her two children)
"Love" could be the theme of the group read of february.

I would recommend something by Sarra Manning - one of the few romance authors I like (though I have read only a couple of her books)

ooh I haven't heard of this one. you've one more nomination left though.
I nominate One Day by David Nicholls
you have to keep a specified date for polls to start, otherwise feb will come and go and we will still be nominating :D

20 is too many right? should i make it 10? polls from 25th?

Though we know that two challenges are ongoing throughout the year, how about we squeeze one more challenge? For the month of February only? With love being the theme. Yes, you'll need time to come out of the embraces of your better halves and finish the book.
Since, the ladies of the group are more or less inactive, this might be the perfect opportunity for them to beat us guys in a challenge eh? Alright, let the nominations come on. 20 nominations later, its voting time.
Well, hold on to your seats though. There is a little twist to the tale. Lets chuck the stereotypical romance out, shall we? That means, no Cecilia Ahern, no Nicholas Sparks, no Nora Roberts and absolutely no classical romance like Gone with the wind, Wuthering Heights and Pride and Prejudice. You get me drift right? Chuck stereotypes out. Bring in the unheard.
20 nominations. It can be contemporary romance as well. It can be a rom-com as well. As long as there's love, there's a nomination.
P.S| Once nominations and votings are done, we will choose 4 books for the month. You can read 1 or read 2 or hell, all the 4. By choosing four, you get a chance to read a novel that you might actually like.
Everyone can nominate 2 books. Nominations end January 20. Shoooo. Lemme concoct a love potion in peace.
