Harry Potter, of course. If I had to narrow it down to just one book, I would probably say Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

message 14: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Tracy It's either Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry, or Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein. Couldn't put either down :)

I've heard so many great reports about this series. maybe I should look at reading it some time in the future.

message 26: by Zara's Retreat (last edited Jul 14, 2013 02:38AM) (new)

Zara's Retreat so far this year the best books I've read are:

The Heretic Queen;
Anna Karenina;
Brave New World (this was a re-read and I loved it now as much as I loved it back in high school).

There are probably others. I just can't think of them at the moment.

message 27: by Gabrielle (new)

Gabrielle (gabbilynn24) | 27 comments thr best book I have ever read has to be Go Ask Alice; I would recommend it to anyone & everyone; it was a diary found on a bus seat in the 70s & no one has ever claimed it but its so good !

Also - The Masqueraders, by Georgette Heyer.
