If you could pick a book about any animal/s to be made into a movie, which book would it be?

Jennifer Priester (jenniferpriester) | 207 comments Some animal books I would love to see as movies would be:

1) The Trouble With Tuck by Theodore Taylor

2) A Dog's Purpose by Bruce W. Cameron

3) Dog Lost by Ingrid Lee

4) The McGrowl series by Bob Balaban

5) The Santa Paws series by Nicholas Edwards

6) The Sight by David Clement Davies

7) the Wolves of the Beyond series by Kathryn Lasky

8) Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs by Yukiya Sakuragi

9) The Time Traveling Cat series by Julia Jarman

10) Incident at Hawk's Hill by Allan W. Eckert

11) Bunnicula by James Howe

12) Waggit's Tale by Peter Howe

13) The Warriors, Seekers, and Survivors series by Erin Hunter

14) the Phantom Stallion by Terri Farley

15) The Boy Who Spoke Dog by Clay Morgan

16) many of Bill Wallace's books

17) The Wild at Heart also called Vet Volunteers by Laurie Halse Anderson

18) The Good Dog by Avi

19) Wanted Mud Blossom by Betsy Byars

20) A Bear Named Trouble and Runt by Marion Dane Bauer

21) Ghost Dog Secrets by Peg Kehret

Every other book I like that isn't a movie yet!

And I'm not going to hide it, when my books about animals are published I would love for them to be movies too! Well, actually all my books have stories about animals so really in a way they all would count for this question, but specifically I would love to see the stories that my current dog, rabbits, and the ones the horse I ride and the barns first barn cat helped create.

Wow Jennifer that's a long list. Glad you took the time to make it though. Sounds like some good ones.

I'm wondering since it's a kids book would there be enough content in it to make a movie?

I will have to see if the library has it.

Now, you knew I was going to say that! I do actually hear the comment frequently when I'm doing interviews that it should be made into a Disney movie. So, I truly mean it. I think it would work. Would love to know what you think. Especially you, Jennifer - you've got a long list!

I haven't gotten a chance to read the book yet but based on the book's description it sounds like it could do really well as a Disney movie. I know I would want to see it! (And this is without having read the book, which is actually very common for me to watch a movie based on a book then go and read it. I know I do things backwards.)

Maybe you'll decide to read Taming Me before it's a movie!
:)

I hadn't heard of that one being in the works for a movie, but the same thing is happening with two other animal books that they are supposed to be making into movies that I really want to watch: A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron, and The Familiars by Adam Jay Epstein.

A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron The Familiars (The Familiars, #1) by Adam Jay Epstein

Tui Allen (tuibird) | 393 comments I'm in talks right now for my own animal book to be made into a movie. The process itself has created its own movie-scene worthy moments.

I LOVED that book! I think it would make a great movie!

Kim Hampton | 180 comments "The Loop" by Nicholas Evans. He also wrote "The Horse Whisperer" and I loved the book but didn't care for the movie at all. It was so different from the book and I didn't like the differences at all.
